hi peeps can anyone help me i just finished laying the motion sensors when you first get to the compound finished that part the your told to get the sentry gun well i get the sentry gun place it next to the ammo dump but dosnt do anything is there something i am missing
Im seeing previews of this since 2010!!!!!
Release the dam thing!!!
This guys like to take years to develop a game, but its not to improve it.. Its because they like to enjoy life ( parties, etc) to much and lazy around and around!!!!
@bloody_roar_fan Really? Would you know this by, being a developer yourself and lounging around when you should be finishing a game??
To be honest, 2 years is a reasonable amount of time for a game to be developed. There is a lot of work that goes into making what we see today. It may take a day or so to code a decent 8-bit game nowadays, but years ago developers were still learning how to use what they had back then. Programming a game in three dimensions is no easy task. Modeling the characters, the levels, programing how the guns work and how enemies act. It all doesn't just happen overnight.
Today's gamers are so impatient, and the reason for this, I believe, are because of yearly released franchises, like Call of Duty and FIFA. These games only come out every year because all they are doing is essentially redesigning an old game running the same engine for about 6 years. Piece of piss, when you've got half of it done for you already.
Now, don't get me wrong. I love Call of Duty, but, if you see where I'm coming from, it's easy for them.
Anyway, the game is nearly out, so don't whinge until it is and you've tried it for yourself. People put a lot of work into making this game, and if it takes time, it takes time. You're just gonna have to wait.
Now, when it's released, and if it looks and plays like crap THEN you have the right to complain about the developers being "lazy"
Give them a chance.
minor blooper there bishop is not a cyborg he is an android (synthetic human). i dont think that the competition with crysis is to much to worry about. even if crysis looks prettier. games are about more than just looking pretty. also there are alot of "aliens" fans out there including myself, who is definitely interested. i do hope this is better than segas last AVP game, as that was disappointing.
@ZomDie420I think that is just a typo. I was just on gamestop and the 360 version says $99 but the pc version says $49.99.
Wow you can really feel the love for avp2 from all these pc fans in this board! I hope this doesn't bomb I just don't trust these games when ign and gamespot hype THE S@@@ OUTTA THEM. At least there's dead space which is a blatant ripoff of aliens but also so good that I respect it as 'imitation is flattery'
Lord!!! Why can't they just remake AVP2 2001 in HD? There is no need to reinvent the wheel. I hope the PC port has better graphics.
This preview is mostly about the multiplayer. Personally i do not give a shit about its multiplayer i want to see the Single player
Okay I just reviewed my Aliens Special Edition DVD. Here is Bishop's exact lines...four hours with a blast radius of 30 kilometers equal to about forty megatons".
Why would the super smart android Bishop give such a large danger zone if the blast was somehow safely contained underground? The answer of course is very little of the processor was underground if any.
Even buried nukes create huge creators. Google the Sedan nuclear test which was 104 kilotons. Largest man made creator and visible from space. That nuke was over 600 feet underground.
Hadley's Hope is gone. Some hater is going to say the reactor was at the bottom of a deep granite foundation or some such such explaination, but surley Bishop would have known that.
@wuushew I read somewhere that randy pitchford said that the explosion was more vertical and not horizontal ...but I agree with NTM23 ...we will just have to wait and see
I?ve been having this issue since they stated it was set in Hadley's Hope after the explosion. Hadley?s hope would have been vaporized during that explosion in Aliens. I wish they would have just done what AvP2 (PC game) did and put it on a different planet that looked similar. It had the Aliens feel without needing to change any of the existing lore.
@wuushew they also say in this video that you meet up with Bishop, but he left the planet with the survivors. also, concerning Hadleys Hope, you see the explosion when they finally escape in the dropship. i have a lot of questions as well, but i am such a big fan, that i think i will still play the game regardless. i do hope their explanations of why things are the way they are, are consistent - this game is announced as being cannon to the franchise..
@wuushew I'm sure a lot of other fans have the same question, and I'd personally love to come up with the reason behind why it's not all gone before the game releases, but I guess all we can do is either wait for an interview with Gearbox so we can read or hear them say why it is that way, if the question is asked, or we'll just have to wait and see what the explanation is in the game; hopefully there is one. I'd love to defend the game, because I'm excited for it and I'm not really loving the hate I'm seeing, but I can't really defend it, 'cause I just don't know; and I don't want to theorize or dig deep into details about how this could have happened either. Let's just wait and see.
Wow they really turned this into another console shooter. I WAS looking froward to this game too...
@pelvist It looks true doesn't it. I can see this being a sloppy port on PC as well.
The aliens explode into a green mess because that is what they do in the movies. And while I agree this isn't a graphical masterpiece based on some of these videos, it's Gearbox, and they make an amazing product. 'Nuff said.
@Microsteve @MrUndrhill They came on very late, they didn't start that game from ground-up. That wasn't Gearbox's fault.
Multiplayer ? WTF is that ? Do you think this is what I wanna see assholes ? I want to see singleplayer how is developing, not that shit. I don't give a spit about multiplayer.
looks really poo and they've been making this for years wtf have they been doing all this time?
Single player is most probably a pure norm run about & shooting little Black fruitcake alien rats, But Multiplayer, Heyz that 's something we all are looking out for. Bet it's gon be just like Halo 4. Multiplayer. Let those green blots devour humans! Spice things up!!! Time to "Get away from her you bitch!"
Speak for your self Worm,as i've just about had it with every game trying to squeeze in a MP mode, when they should of been concentrating on the single player game, too many games these days just put a MP mode in to try and boast sales and in some cases it really doesn't work.
@startazz @TheWormRodman Singleplayer is exactly what I'm looking forward to in this game. I want to see how it effects the canon. If this was a multiplayer game only, well I certainly wouldn't buy it, so I'm certainly not playing this for the multiplayer. I don't see how multiplayer, especially to franchise fans, would be here for that.
I'll be the lone voice of dissention here and say that I'm totally stoked for this game and can't wait. Everything I've seen and read indicates that this is going to be a fantastic game from the fantastic developer that's also brought us the fantastic Borderlands games (and, admittedly, some less than stellar titles too). Regradless of all of it, this is one gamer who's got it on pre-order and looking forward to picking it up!

@dildodildo same, im already raging about the HUD, we dont need it. If i run out of ammo my gun wont fire, Simple. If i die, i know im out of health lol.
I dont want on screen messages telling me what where do this that, press button etc etc. I can find that out by my self. I just hope there is an option to turn all that OFF. Will be AMAZING and bloody scary if there was ZERO HUD info, apart from smart gun, IR filter 'if its in the game'.
@dildodildo Yeah, I wish there was an FPS that had the same type of "HUD" as Dead Space, where it immerses you into it, but the reason here is that not all weapons will have the ammo counter. Also, remember that it could be that their helmets that project it, so it's not just a gamey thing. Huh, looking at it now, it does make sense to have such a HUD.
Loved the first 2 alien movies but since 1986 people have been doing nothing but raping this concept.... and this is another example of that.
holy crap, the firearm takes 1/3 of the screen!!! this will be another super-Zoomed 60 FOV game :( hope the pc version can change that, but the previous cant :(
Strange how everything looks so good on the screenshots but looks absolutely terrible when in the actual gameplay video. Disappointed.
As long as I don't hear "reloading!" or "cover me i'm reloading!" "RELOADING!!" that was a huge downer in L4D series.
Imo Gearbox games are usualy a clunky mess. From what I see in these videos ACM will be the same.
