I have waited for this game and had some expectations. I've played AvP 2, and was a big fan, so naturally I expected this game to be just as good or better. Unfortunately, it's worse than AvP 2.
The campaign is... good... but not great. The story isn't really great. Honestly, after a while, I just didn't care for the story anymore. The campaign is good because of the locations and gameplay. Each species is played differently, and the level design is suited for their talents. Aliens have the opportunity to stalk and sneak upon their prey, predators can take advantage of their stealth and hunt their enemies, while humans can... well... shoot things with big guns. However, the level design does not allow much of choice. Usually there is just one way to do something. If you play a second time, you will be forced to play exactly the same way as the first time.
Multiplayer is good. Very fun. Very, very fun. But there is one issue. There are NO PEOPLE PLAYING MULTIPLAYER. In my case, I have rarely played a match with 12 players. Usually its 4-7 players. Never have I played a match with 18 players. Never. But once you do actually get to play, it is very fun. The species combat is varied, and each species requires a radically different style of play. The different game types are also good.
Overall, I am disappointed with the game. I wouldn't call it a failure or a waste of money, since I had a fair share of fun with it (I mean, how cool is it to play as the Alien),

'Not bad for a Human'. AvP is a honest attempt with great ideas, and some noticeable problems.

A game worth the hype. With great character models and environments . A short campaign and some controles hold it back.

A game that tried to do too much then delivered too little.
