First off, when I read gamespot's reviews I was so disappointed to se what it got! I've been a fan since the first game (besides the movies, pretty...meh), and loved the fact you can play all 3 characters and use and do all the crazy stuff they did in the movies.
So I see it the other day on sale and say, alright, screw it. Bought the game, popped it in, and seriously could not put it down! The game is so intense in part (especially as the marine) and just down right fun. The story is not bad either as it continues from the first AVP movie. The graphics are pretty slick and have some awesome detail that ur just like... whoa! that was pretty sick. The game play is fun, blowing alien gibs everywhere with a grenade launcher, climbing walls and dropping on a marine as an alien, or hand to hand combating an alien as a predator and then ripping its like mouth outta its big mouth. Damn thats fun. The controls are good, but coulda used improvments. aiming on an alien with a pistol can be a little clunky at times, but for the most part u'll be spraying whatever is running down that dark, flashing corridor. one thing that was missing was crouching for the marine and predator, which really really blows at points, cant take cover. The sound and music is fantastic, everyting is spot on, and the voice acting pretty decent to. Marines tend to repeat the same lines, and its like yeah i know. and the music is pefect. The three campaings are fun and go for about 7 hours each , and the marines story has collectable audio files to give more sense to the story.
Seriously , give it a chance, i did, and i was not disappointed. DO IT`

Great game with plenty of violent action, story is a bit weak but what more is needed? its AVP, killing and violence!

Ripping spines out of bodies, however entertaining, "does not a good game make".

SINGLE PLAYER REVIEW: AVP is an unfocused and brief experience that showed potential but came up short.

However short this game is, it's a great game.
