There's no game like this in the current generation. Plays too differently to your average adventure game. Your gun is more a tool than an actual weapon: your best weapon is impprovisation.
1 Like I played the demo on the PS3 and it was really decent, I liked it. But I then bought it on the pc and on that platform it's HORRIBLE. The controls are atrocious and among the worst I've even encountered in a game. It's also glitchy as hell.
I am very intrigued by the inventory system, but clumsy controls do tend to get up my grill. I'll probably get it at a low price.

The VIDEO REVIEWER DOESN'T KNOW WHAT HE IS TALKING ABOUT. You actually don't have to blink right away and it does not set the game up for anything. The graphic detail is very good and looking down into your jacket it the best inventory idea out there and more realistic. There are many games out there that you can hold 5+ guns and 100s of rounds of ammo and the character won't even show them anywhere. The survivalist game play is great. It makes you always aware of your items. Yes the driving is probably the most difficult part in the game but after all this isn't PGR or NFS.
I still don't get whats wrong with blinking, its not like you need to blink every 30 secs otherwise your eyes hurt. The melee seems pretty cool. Driving seems a pain. I wish he'd mention the other aspects of the game a bit more and the story.

Just got this game at Toysrus... it was on clearance for 9.98 new BUT it was "buy one clearance game get one 50% off". Got Conan (9.98) and Alone in the Dark for $15 total! I realize that both of these games got fair reviews, but one hell of a deal for two sealed games for $15! My brother enjoyed Condemned 1 + 2... so I figured I would get him Alone in the Dark. Just a heads up for everyone on a good sale.
Wow, there is way too much hate for this reviewer. Chris Watters is one of the best video reviewers on Gamespot. The one that needs to be killed is the bald british guy, (no I'm not racist, british myself. He seems fake british.) Watters emulates an earlier time in gamespot, when Jeff Gerstmann was still around. Watch his 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand review for his best. Spot on verdict, and funny as well.
If you loved how unforgiving and clunky could be a Survival horror game from post `96 era get it. Also, it has that charm of compensating smart and patient players.
The controls and the puzzles can really be frustrating. This is a big problem for some of the puzzles where you have to guess how you could do, using the game controls, something that actually is obvious. Otherwise it's a good game. Great scenes, and I liked the non-linear open-world part at the end of the game where you have to destroy the roots of evil, a kind of "mini Far Cry 2" in Central Park. 7/10
I actually thought this game was pretty good...! All the reviewer is complaining about really is clipping and other graphical anomalies, but it is definitely not a problem to the point of sinking this game's score down to 6.5...!! I really recommend this game. I especially enjoyed the car chase in NY, followed by the fissure!
Theres a lot of places and cutscenes that aren't in the game... At least i haven't seen 'em... For example tunnel at 2:23 and Cutscene at 2:27...
so your saying that if you woke up from who knows how long and had a flashlight shinned in your face that you would not blink once to clear your vison you must be jesus or god or something
Really, the inventory is that bad? When RE5 does the same thing? And you guys loved that game! And RE5's controls were wonky too! You guys just had too high of expectations of this game. Alot of games controls and stuff are like this ones, and you loved them! And also, you say the driving is bad? IN A SURVIVAL HORROR GAME?! What do you expect, gran turismo? Shutup and stop trying to be funny. You fail. I gave this game a 8.7/10
I just got this game for my xbox and it sucks not only the story but the gameplay is the worst ever !!!! I use to be a huge fan of this game but they just send the franchis to hell
I thought Chris did a good job. Maybe not the funniest review ever but it gets the point across. The game is interesting, bust also rather flawed. It's to easy to take damage while checking your jacket inventory, also the cars handle terrible, and sometimes using the fire and light mechanic is incredibly frustrating. Speaking of frustrating, well actually it;s more annoying really, don't even get me started on the root burning sequences! arrrgghhh! Nice to hear the voice of Max Payne in a game agian though.
dead space beats this game hands down.i appreciate the ideas of this game compared to some of dead spaces borrowed ideas but the horrible controls and other flaws weigh it down
yeah played this for a few hours and its probably the most punishing game ever. never gives you tips on what to do. find out for urself move to the next room and spend another 10 minutes figuring out wtf do i do now. the game has a lot of bugs too and the gameplay just isnt fun. probably give it a 6 the game needs like some kinda system that tells u what to do
