I just can't get scared by a movie or game any more!

I see all these posts about how folks get freaked out by this game and I wish I could. I think the last time I remember getting a freaked out by a game was when I played Realms of the haunting late at night a decade ago (or so).
I get a bit worked up in the tense moments I suppose, but I have never felt "afraid" at all, and I try to play early in the mornings when I am the only one up and it is still (mostly) dark out.
Too many Evil Dead movies and previous "scary" games I suppose...

I kind of agree, but if nothing else, Amnesia is atmospheric as **** and well worth the purchase, but so far I haven't been scared by anything in-game either. It seems like all the "horror" is because of darkness, which personally comforts me as opposed to scares me,(Night school, migraines, graveyard shifts and urban life do that to you.) and chase scenes, which piss me off but don't scare me. The second I re-spawned the horror was gone and it became a game of 'get to the door before uglyface eats my legs.'
I'm not very far in yet though. Maybe'll it'll throw something good at me. I'm kind of worried that I'm not consuming the game properly though. It may just be my limited time and the short sessions that are ruining the game for me. I don't get much free time when it's dark outside.
I want to recapture how bad the REmake scared me when I was a kid, so bad though.
...I want to be scared.

Get going. Get tough. Get angry! Stay hungry! Get mean! Stay lean! Say what you mean and say it mean.

Exactly for me as well! I respawned after losing a footrace from ugly and there was no scariness or tension. It was just a hide-n-seek then run and hope to not die game....
I do like the game, and love the atmosphere but there is just no "scary" there for me at all. Fun game though...
