I have never played an Assassin's creed game in my life - barely know anything about the story or anything. Is it legit to play only this game in the series, since it's apparently the best one? Would I be missing out on anything if I skipped the 1st?

play the 1st it's great and you can play 2 without it but the story is more interesting if you've played 1.

^ AC2 Is the best IMO. But I never got the chance to play AC3 yet though.

Good to know, i'm playing AC1 but i'm hating it, too repetitive, and i don't like Altair, i just can't bring myself to finish the game, i hate to leave an game unfinished, but i will have to do it, i really want to play AC2, i wanted to ifnish the first 1 since 'm a big fan of the series, played almost every game ,but i think i will beat AC2 first....

The only way to play and enjoy Creed 1 is to speed run it. Just do minimum side missions and move on.

THis was the first assassins creed i ever played and i loved it, if you dont want to get the first one your not going to miss much, just research a little on desmond's side o the story in that game and your all set!

2 is my first game, and it's AWESOME. I haven't even gotten that far yet.
