When I saw that this game had really bad reviews, I thought it would have really bad graphics and gameplay but I was wrong.
First just wanted to say I never played an assassin's creed game before though they look interesting.
Anyway, this game really wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. The graphics are actually really good and the gameplay is not bad as well. The combat is good. I never played the original assassin's creed game but from the videos I have seen of it, this game has the same combat system. You can slash your sword at enemies or counter/dodge. There are cool "killing blow" animations that play every time you kill an enemy. There is also throwing knives and the hidden blade.
You can run around the climb buildings which is kind of cool at first but gets repetitive. Controlling your character and camera might take some practice- I accidentally jumped off buildings and died way too much ._.
The game is divided up into 7 parts (though the 1st part is the tutorial and last part is the final boss battle). Each part usually consists of altair doing some random quests (usually assassinations) and then infiltrating a castle to fight a boss. These boss fights are varied and gradually get harder, which is good. There are random sidequests you can do for more money to get upgrades but they are kind of boring and optional.
Each part takes around 1 hour to complete (except the tutorial) so you can finish this game is around 6 hours, which is pretty short. Once you finish the game, there isn't really any point in playing it more, so there isn't much replay value. Lots of ppl don't like that this game is short but I kind of like the fact that the story progresses pretty fast and the game doesn't make you grind/farm/do pointless missions to stall and prolong the game and story like some games do but the game ends up a lot shorter. Pretty much the game ends before it gets too repetitive.
The story in this game is ok.. I don't want to spoil anything but the story in this game is quite generic and nothing interesting really happens. Not a really memorable story or anything- no big climax or twists but the game also has a lot of voice acted cutscenes that keep the game somewhat interesting.
Graphics: 8.5/10
Gameplay: 7/10
Sound/music: 8/10
Story: 7.5/10
Value/Replay value: 7/10
Overall: 7/10
Edit: I tried out Assassin's Creed 2 on the PC after playing this game, and realized this game completely sucks and lacks content compared to pc/ps3/xbox360 versions of assassin's creed games.

It takes away from stealth when you can just flick out a sword and hack apart the same ol' guards over and over again.

This version fails to live up to the tremendous standards of its console brothers, but holds its own as a PSP title.
