Assassin's Creed was and still is a fantastic game. It's massive open world, varied mission structure, and amazing story (except the ending). Now, behold, Assassin's Creed 2 has arrived, and the idea that was introduced in the first game is improved in this game. The story takes place three hundred years after the first. You take on the role of Ezio Auditore Da Firenze, the son of a Florentine Banker, as he lives through a few years of his life before becoming the assassin you will come to know him as. The first DNA arc has a rather grim execution scene, and you take your revenge on the man who killed your father and brothers. However, Ezio uncovers a dark conspiracy at work. A secret war between the Templars and the Assassins is going on, and Ezio is thrust head first into the conflict after his uncle is revealed to be an assassin himself. You progress through the story at a great pace, occasionaly stopping t help advance the story of Desmond, the one controlling Ezio from the Animus. If you've played the first Assassin's Creed, you'll be familiar with Desmond and his role in all this. There are some new weapons to use. A Dual blade adds a much more fun aspect to assassinations, making it easier to take down targets, and you can fight with your hidden blade. The smoke bombs make escaping from fights easier, the Poison blade makes enemies flail about like their having a seizure, and the best weapon, the hidden pistol. Yes, that's right, a pistol. A one hit kill weaopn, it is a great assassination tool. The story is of good length, and has a lot of variety. Overall, this game comes very higly recommended to anyone who likes this sort of thing.
