Therefore Moral of the Story : Increasing the security of games to prevent piracy actually increases and also encourages piracy among gamers.

the music inside the game was very awful ! boring! specially in venice...and one the musics in florance was completley irrelevant to a action adventure game! something like ... I don't know what to call it !

Just picked up the deluxe from Steam for 7£ and oh my... what a game, amazing, almost a perfect 10 imo. I didn't expect much because i played the 1st one and it was a decent game, but this one takes it to a whole new level. Amazing, go buy it now if you havent played it yet.

I bought the deluxe edition at 30USD over steam. It is the best game I have ever played - prefer it over ME2, DA2, Crysis 2, Lack Ops, DA, Fallout NV and so on. The price has dropped, and the irritating DRM is gone. This is a must buy.

You spent hours clicking two buttons?... LOL But, while I don't necessarily like the "redesign" or small "reboot" of this franchise from the first to the second game, I'm still interested in playing this. No, I haven't played the second and third games, but I think they should be great. I just hope you can turn off things in the HUD. I really dislike the arrows all over the screen, it was a lot better in the first where you had a target selected by a sort of "digital glow" over their person. Also, the setting of Venice... I'm not sure what to think about it. It seems very different, while you of course have a great city to get around in. It seems more lively, only at the same time a little less interesting. I really liked the "medieval" sort of theme in the first, which had a more raw feel to it. And the following games just seem to be more "classier", with all the fancy designs and everything. Well, as long as the features and gameplay are fun, I'll buy it. :)

@DaduMic - I hope you realize that you are stealing from the hundreds of people involved with the production progress of the game. I wonder how you would feel if someone stole from you and then bragged about it online? @NerdusMaximus - Many people don't use Steam. The reviewers have to look at this from every angle. I agree with the reviewers, Ubisoft should have respected paying PC customers more. Pirates don't get affected by DRM - as "DaduMic" pointed out. The loyal, paying fans get hurt. Please wake up Ubisoft...take a hint from the Witcher 2.

Seriously, the DRM didn't cause any issues with me. Probably at release it was unstable because hackers were pissy about it and made them unstable to make a point. And now that this game is $14 on Steam, this is a great investment, IMHO.

He shouldnt have mentioned the $10 premium. Not everyone buys new games the day they get released.

@Gooeykat Lolz I should of explained a bit more. I don' t know how this guy did it, but if I try to assassinated a guard after assasinateing the others, he will throw me to the ground. And you know in the first game how you could Counter-kill everyone? In this they can block your counter attacks and knock you down. The AI isn't amazing, but it isn't terrible.

Gooeykat
Gooeykat

@supertegwyn Convince me, I played the first and wouldn't mind getting this one. But look at the AI in this video, you kill someone right in front of guards and the AI stands there does nothing. The AI wait to attack one at a time instead of in groups. Maybe this video is misleading, don't know since I don't own the game.

Personally, the copy protection thing never got in the way for me. I prefer no DRM, but having it isn't too bad. The increase in price for PC is mainly due to the fact that Ubisoft has to deal with pirates, compatibility issues, etc. I think the ratings should rate the actual game, not the installer or price.

FallenAngelXBL
FallenAngelXBL

In all honesty the protection for this game never gets in the way of anything. It is better to have unlimited installs and constant connection than having a limit of 3-5 without connection in my opinion.

Ubisoft has always gone out of their way to screw over the PC gamer...so I have NO problem with people pirating their games. Maybe they'll stop being jerk-off's if they see people aren't going to pay for their crap anymore!

i dont see the point of the DRM. if anything, it gives pirates more incentive to pirate the game and gives paying customers a reason to pirate the game. Out of sheer anger. ubisoft spat on their customers with this release. Isnt there a crack out for this game anyways? so the DRM proved to be useless.

I am a person who loved consoles for years and then when I saw the light on what all a PC can do, and the switch was obvious. There are so many games for PC that can simply detect the 360 controller with the push of a button and you play just the same as you would on console. So, what is the need for a console anymore? Technology is coming to the point today where hardware for a PC is either, good or simply 10-20 FPS better, thats all. Not a big difference anymore

DJSHAFT69
DJSHAFT69

Just freaking get an X360 Controller for PC. Lets you play a lot of games with more "intuitive" (for this game I would agree with that) actions and button mashing combos. I played without a contoller, but had a much easier time with one attached. Just makes all the combat and fight combos a lot easier and quicker to pull off. I had to heal a lot less and took a lot less damage in fights where I had the 360 controller hooked up. The PC button combos and the kind of finger stretching and joint popping keyboard working it requires does tend to get frustrating after a bit of heavy combat. That was really my only real issue so far, except for a bit of ire at the annnoying level of the puzzles and some of the race game crap.

@detectivepbert First off, those of us with only a PC, unwilling to pay $200 or $300 for a console that ONLY plays games (save the PS3 but it doesnt do the things PC does), would maybe like to have the PC version.... Second off, all kevin meant was that it was a little easier to do with an xbox controler, thus his use of the word intuitive... please ake sure you know what a word meens before you critisize the use of it... Third off, and lastley, PC, though its not at a huge advantage with these examples, has much better graphics, frequently has a few extras thrown in the game for good measure and most everyone has a computer, makeing it an option for most people. Now, before you write me off with a shake of the head and a thumbs down, i must say this aswell. I agree with you to a degree... IF someone has a console, and regularly plays games on it, then be my guest, buy the console one. You will be sacrafiseing these better/extra qualities, but be my guest. The fact that internet is required at all times is a nuicence, but never, in my opinion, does it draw away any of the fun away from the game... i played the game for a month practically non stop and only had one problem for an hour...

detectivepbert
detectivepbert

I don't understand why anyone with a console would bother getting the PC version of this game. Especially when Kevin VanOrd said its more "intuitive" to play with a 360 control even on PC.

I can't believe Ubisoft made this gaff... Interestingly enough, there has recently been research on the connection between piracy and copy protection levels for different media. Guess what? EVERYBODY turns out to crack EVERYTHING in around THE SAME TIMEFRAME. That's REGARDLESS of the copy protection used. You probably aren't surprised by that, but listen to this additional discovery: Percentagewise between non-pirating players and pirating players, it's the PIRATES who BUY THE PRODUCT MOST, and are MOST LIKELY TO PAY FULL PRICE, NO MATTER HOW MUCH! In other words, it's smarter for companies to not worry about copy protection and just make good products. In fact, if they make good ones, they can charge a premium anytime, and they'll get the same amount of money anyway! Please Ubisoft pay attention to the report in the future.

One of the rare times I will even discuss a cracked game, but for this one you are pretty much forced to do it. If you want to be able to enjoy this stunning and totally worth game, then it is a must to use a crack to keep the action going. I bought a copy and am not going to be ashamed that I am using a crack to play a game I paid good money for. Now that I have ranted and taken out some anger that Ubisoft caused me for the weeks of frustrating play, I will say some good things about the game. Just play it without the freaking DRM and go on an adventure that you are very unlikely to find from any other game. Just one of the most incredible open ended game where you can live out many a role playing and killingt fantasy. Don't judge the game without trying it without the DRM, and if you own it, screw the ones who say you can't!
