I completely agree. I have seen a lot of hate regarding ACIII on these forums lately, and I just don't get why. Okay, Conner is a bit monotoned, but so what?! In my opinion, ACIII is the best game in the series.

I enjoyed it alot, even though i found Conner boring and even annoying at times.

The roofguards no longer makes sense though.

Best for me would be AC2, followed by AC3

I agree 100%. Every single game has its issues- even Uncharted games! AC3 as a COMPLETE game is amazing. Amazing how much work and detail was put in the game. The frontier, cities, and naval missions and all the side missions like hunting, liberation contacts etc are all great. I appreciate the improvements in all aspects and I loved improved combat - which was great in previous games. I enjoyed multiplayer aswell however I enjoy single player much more. My only suggestion for the next AC game is the improvement of A.I of enemies, even more animations (AC3 had so many!), and more story to Connor. When the next gen consoles come out I'm sure Ubisoft will do even more but until then I hope to play as Connor again!

I still believe AC2 is the best in the series. I personally don't really like Connor as a character, either. He just reminds me way too much of Altair.

Is their a lot of things to collect in this game? Previous AC games had you running around for treasure, bird feathers, glyphs....is any of that in this?

The Best by far was AC2 msn ,the story was just amazing, the Think they could have added to it was to replay selected missions. Next in line is AC3 no doubt.

I agree with you!  AC2 was the best.  It had a great all round story and the puzzles and dungeons were interesting and fun.  And, let's not forget about all that beautiful Italian architecture.

Assassins Creed had the best setting in the Crusader period because that is when the assassins came to European attention. Fighting actual Templars in Acre etc was brilliant, but the gameplay was limited and voice acting terrible. It was a first time, rushed product.

After that it was going down hill. And please, American posters, we know you love your country but the setting is pointless American patriotic propaganda. Abstergo was taking over the world, so why was it set in America? Because ALL heroic actions take place in America! Oh, god. America saves the world again!!! Didn't you get Team America and what it was saying??!! America doesn't control the world; never has, never will. Aliens in the Americas is also overdone in various TV shows, movies and games. Boring!!!

AC should have stayed in the Middle Ages given the events across Europe and the Middle East during any of the multiple Crusades, providing innovative settings and story lines, not cliched Americanisms.

Each game underlies some historical conflict between control and freedom. I don't think it's proganda, the Revolution War is an historic event in Global history, just like the crusades and the Borgias. (I actually don't know about the Byzantines and Constantinople story-live from Revelations, but I'm guessing that was a real thing two. These games take place all over the world. I wouldn't be surprised if the next one took place in Germany (not sure if the game would feel the same with automatic weapons. The only other setting that comes to mind is the Civil War.

As per the topic, so far I might have to go with 3. Sure, Connor isn't as charming as Ezio, but I think the actual story telling is better overall. The backstory especially with the Homestead does a really good job of providing a backdrop to life outside the direct conflict. The side missions in the Ezio games did not do this as well. As for the main story, I haven't finished so I'll refrain from an opinion, but I am enjoying it so far. And Connor, I actually really like him. He's funny, even if unintentional. He's just this beefy Native American guy who goes around and simulatnenously casually helps people like its no biggie, but acts like a total a hole while he's doing it.

As far as gameplay, its full of small tweaks that serve it well. I'm so glad they got rid of medicine. If I'm not fighting well, I should die. I shouldn't be able to use 11 medicines and still come out okay. The fighting is becoming more fluid, there is less (its still mostly there) of enemies standing by to hit you one at a time. Its feels more fluid to run through crowds. The addition of the wilderness sections were a nice addition, as were the ship sections. I also like the way they did the assassins in this game.  There aren't as many to keep track of, they are all unique characters with personalities, and now they can do things besides just kill people. Also its cool that there is actually a menu for that now instead having to visit a bird cage or whatever.

The game is glitchy, but hopefully that patch comes in handy.

My only real beefs with this game are related to menus. I can't seem to find a menu to look at the challenges you occassionally see appear on screen, things like: frontier challenge 1: Hunt a bear, stuff like that.

Second, I wish there was a way to equip weapons and clothes from a menu screen.  Its a pain in the ass to go to your hideout or a general store every time you want to change your load out. Its cool smacking people with a club, but I don't really want to carry it around for two hours or so because I haven't gotten around to going to the general store.

I agree. I think AC III is great for Americans, but bad for rest of the world. As someone from Turkey, from a nations that's been around for thousands of years in Asia and Europe, and from a country that has been a part of European history for centuries, I'm really interested in European and Middle Eastern history. You know crusades, European wars, actual templars (some of them were Knights Hospitaller whom Ottomans fought) and thus, playing AC I and AC II (also Brotherhood, Revelations) was so much fun. However, I am in no way interested in American history full of persons (like Samuel Adams) I don't care about. It's boring to me because compared to European history, it's dull.

I still played AC III but didn't enjoy it as former AC games due to the location of the game. I'm sure most non-Americans feel the same way. Oh, Connor was boring as well.

I've played all AC games and completed every mission in each. I have to say I enjoyed Brotherhood the most. The city of Rome was amazing. The story was getting interesting. You don't have to worry about traveling to other areas. Outside of Brotherhood my next favorite was AC2. AC3 is fun and I'm getting more involved in the game. I haven't truly fallen in love with it all yet. I was playing sequence 6 and 7 over the weekend and got stuck in a series of missions that never seemed to end. I wanted to finish and take a break but each mission followed immediately after. I want to be able to build my character and enjoy the areas without constant story missions.
