How "M-Rated" is this?

- Nov 19, 2012 1:17 pm GMTI think this game looks really awesome, but I'm not allowed to (and don't really want to) play games that are inappropriate/ultra-violent. I heard that Ben says some...er..interesting things. Can these be skipped easily? And all in all, does it deserve being only 17 and up?

If you are interested in science, check out the work of Dr. Carl Werner. - Nov 19, 2012 1:21 pm GMTYou repeatedly stab people in the throat, through the throat and head, chest, shooting people in the face with pistols, stabbing people and poisoning people, hanging them from trees with darts and spears in their backs, killing animals and bears by stabbing them and ripping off everything that they have, such as skin, guts, leaving corpses behind. People getting their throats slit and left to die, slaughtering countless people on ships by blowing them up with cannon fire, leaving them to die and float in the water until sharks get them, blood splatter on your outfit and from people you stab in the face....
Nah, I think you're good.

Hey look! A shotgun! - Nov 19, 2012 1:25 pm GMTIt's the most violent of the AC games

It's a good thing I played all that Assassin's Creed - Nov 19, 2012 1:35 pm GMTIt's mainly due to blood, violence and language, mostly the first two. The language is pretty tame, some strong language once in awhile but I think it's about as much as the rest of the series really, never payed that much attention. But you'll find yourself getting bloody often and some of Connor's moves can be pretty brutal, but it's not like he's ripping people apart leaving chunky bits everywhere. Although that would be fun with the trip mine if it could do that... I'd say if you've played through Dragon Age: Origins and weren't bothered by it's M rating, it won't be all that bad since it's more or less the same.
- Nov 19, 2012 1:35 pm GMTHaha, typical American (and I say this as an American)...murder people by the hordes? No problem for little Timmy to play. Old man makes an argument full of innuendo as to why f***ing older chicks is the bees knees (gotta love old-timey malarkey). OMG, THINK OF THE CHILDREN!

You can kill people and everything but there is an option to turn off blood and there aren't any major sexual themes either.
Honestly I am about 50% convinced that this is a troll topic anyway. the idea that someone could be thrown away from a game because of any visual representation of violence(which is almost demanded in the videogame industry) just seems absurd. However, let's sat that you really are disgusted by these things, a simple search for any game trailer on YouTube would give you your answer. Besides, anyone who would call a game not worth playing, because of one hilarious conversation with Ben Franklin, needs to give up games entirely. - Nov 19, 2012 3:14 pm GMTYou can turn blood/gore off in the options menu. If you do that it's not necessarily 17+ in my opinion.

Not a troll topic. Trailers don't show the content of the entire game. And I never said that would make it not worth playing.
Also, yeah, the Bible is pretty violent, because it's a history of mankind and us humans can be a violent bunch

Shoving a sword through the underside of an enemies jaw, and it coming out the back of the head. Or through the chest, or back, and it coming out the other side.
Also, throwing a hessian axe stolen from a hessian at an enemy (preferably another hessian), and it getting embedded in his skull. I love doing that. Pick up the body, and the axe will still be stuck in his skull.

So murdering people is ok as long as you don't have to hear Benjamin Franklin use period appropriate language to describe dating and allude to sex? Good parenting that.
That said. It's bloody (which can be turned off) and that's probably MOST of the reason for the M rating. All the sex stuff (god forbid you learn about it before you get someone pregnant right?) is mild, and the language on it's own wouldn't merit an M rating at all.
And 110% isn't a thing... and I'm really, really tired of idiots using it to try and make a weak point stronger.

Thinking is the hardest kind of work, which is probably why so few engage in it. - Nov 19, 2012 6:06 pm GMTYou play as a guy who sneaks around and stabs people in the lungs. What kind of content do you think the game has? If violence isn't your thing, then don't play violent games.
There is no nice way to kill people. Are you looking for a game where you stab people with with a magic Nerf sword, and they bleed out rainbows and puppy farts, and fall over asleep with obvious ZZZs to show they are still alive?
You either accept that murder (though sometimes nessicary) is not a pleasent thing, or you play a game that doesn't have violence. There is always games like Forza, or Pokemon (though could still be considered violent with capturing animals and forcing them to fight for your pleasure).
But if you insist on a big-boy game, try Dishonored. You can make it though the game without killing a single person if you so desire. Same with the Metal Gear Solid games.

Decidedly not true. Rev ezio had TWO sword kills (one normal and one dracula) where he shanks the guy through the head and wrenches it around in a way that should definitely have lead to decapitation. Among others including the BRUTAL long weapon kills. In pure violence, Rev wins.

Yes, actually. Apart from a few specific bits, you can play the entire thing without "killing" anyone.
