I beat 5 AC games and 5 times I felt ubi kicked me in the nuts. Every game I get sucked into an epic story with characters and rivalries u feel connected to like ezio and ceasere, altiar and his master, and tthis one Haythem and Connor's interesting fued. I look so foward to the end and each game ending leaves me more confused and let down than the last game. Its like watching your team make the superbowl 4 times just to lose everytime, (sorry Bills fans old enough to remember.) And after this ending im amazed we went through all that just to get to what, just to watch desmond die from touching a magic 8ball.

I'm pretty sure that Ubisoft thought everyone hated Desmond, so they mandated his death. They then made it so that the Animus is synced to the Cloud so that anyone can access Desmond's genetic memories anywhere. It's all a way to bring in a new protagonist.
It's a shame really, because the only reason people didn't like Desmond was because he wasn't accomplishing anything. Then right when he actually does something, storming Abstergo and killing Vidic, Desmond gets offed like an annoying mosquito. People actually say that they enjoyed the Desmond scenes in this game.
Then again, it's not like Ubisoft couldn't have him brought back to life. Even if they have to pull some amazing bull**** out of their ass, it's still possible for Desmond to return. Previous statements about this being Desmond's last game aren't immutable.

Garbage ending for what I thought was an otherwise great series.
Don't know why people don't like Desmond, he's alright by me.

I live in Buffalo and don't care about the Bills...does that make me a bad person? I live in a sports city and I don't care about sports >_>

I don't believe that Desmond is really dead.....After all when he fell to the ground he grunted and breathed, then it cut to black.
