PLEASE! I for one always found the historical events more interesting than the present day scooby doo squad, especially now being that we've come to the conclusion with the modern day scenario. I love pirates and I'm hoping this game will put all its attention towards a single era... Also no more glitchy animus stuff, it's annoying and takes you out of the atmosphere.

We've known for years now that they will never make a modern-only AC title.

Perhaps I wasn't clear enough... I don't want to be in another animus reliving an ancestor's memories. I want an AC game with no modern day ties, I want this to solely take place during that era with pirates, not being in the present reliving the past.

    Understand?

That would be asking the developers to completely change the story aspect of the game, the whole series is based on the Animus.

I kind of wish they would do a console AC like they did the vita one. Where there is no modern day stuff at all. Just the past.

... Did you even play Liberation? It was very much tied to the modern storyline.

Not a lot of it I got it for Xmas and I have only put about 2 or 3 hours in it and aside from that thing when you are starting it and they say connecting to abstergo there is not future or present day stuff. So unless it comes in later which is possible.

I'd like a historical-fiction action game similar in playstyle to the AC games.

Desmond and the "outside the animus" story does nothing for me. It's pretty corny even by video-game standards. The OP's comparison of them to the Scooby-Doo gang was apt.

I agree, I hate the modern day crap.

Chiming in to say I agree as well. I despise all the stuff about Desmond and his story. Since Assassins Creed Brotherhood I finally gave up and just skip every second I can of the modern day story. I just want to play the story I bought the game for which in this case is the revolution setting. I don't want to be Desmond base jumping off of whatever skyscraper I was on at one point in this game. I know the game was built around the Animus aspect but for AC1 it worked if it were a stand alone title, since it's a series I would hope if Ubisoft could do it all over again they would leave out everything related to Desmond and the present setting. Just my 2 cents.
