Is anyone else seriously irritated that 90% of multiplayer games now consist of smokebomb only? All I see anymore are people throwing down a trip mine, stunning people, dropping a smoke bomb, stunning more, then having 2-3 other team mates repeat the process. It's like multiplayer ceased being a interesting mesh of abilities and started to become "Hope you have smoke bomb and enough players on your team who don't like trying to get different kill types"

That's a pretty accurate description of what Manhunt has always been, really. Manhunt is designed for simplicity: If you're defending, you have nothing to think about other than stunning/escaping the attackers. The ability that provides a free stun-and-run is obviously the easiest way to accomplish that.
Fortunately, the rest of the modes are much more interesting in general. Smoke Bombs are used in all of them, but not to the same extent.

In the modern world, "common sense" is an oxymoron.

Abuse the living **** out of wipe and shield.
Bout all I can tell you. Glimmer helps if you're on the offensive.

I wish that the Animus Shield had a much shorter cool-down. All its good for is blocking bullets and bombs, I doubt anyone has used it to block close-ranged poison yet. It's a purely defensive ability, why does it have such a long cool-down?

don't get salty because you're getting outmaneuvered. Smoke bomb has a 100 sec cooldown, blocked by wipe and shield, doesn't block kills from above... literally plenty of ways around it.

I agree with everyone else. If you don't like the smoke bomb, do what a lot of people are doing. Attack from above if you know the right target, and wipe is a perfect ability for defending against the smoke bomb, plus it is downright useful for finding the right target if you need the help. I use the bomb and I don't know a whole lot of people who use wipe to counter it. It used to be there was no way to counter it as good as this, so use what they have given to you. That's all I can say.
