WTF...bugfest...
- Dec 29, 2012 1:50 pm GMTLet me say first i love the Assassins Creed lore and game setup. It's rich and colourful, free roaming, and leaves me the choice of following a story line or completing secondary goals when and where I choose. BUT, and this is a huge but...the Assassins Creed 3 episode fails in all aspects. It is riddled with technical bugs that make you unable to play this POS like being stuck and unable to progress or even get out of menus. Please remember we PAY for this game, this is no F2P where you can forgive a few bugs, this is where you spend your hard earned money only to feel robbed shortly after! Then the characters: more plastic looking then ever before, very unlikeable and, although some movements have been improved upon and goten more fluid, some movements have degraded to retarded. The controls are utter crap. Numerous times will you perform actions you did not hit keys for, or even no action at all, like being stuck on the corner of a 2 foot high gfence, not being able to jump of or run over it, but having to resort to using the "hang" action and go hand over hand for a foot, only to clamber back up and now try to jump off. Was this game even tested in-house, or was the deadline so tight they thought "ah feck it, let's just release it as is and worry about it later..."? Then there is the aspect where Ubisoft destroyed the free roaming experience in the first part of the game. Up until sequence 5 there is nothing you can really do, except follow the story line. You get no sidequests worth mentioning, can't gather by hunting (you can kill animals, but not skin them, you "learn" that in sequence 5) and feel generally bored into following the very monotonous and uninteresting storyline. Last but not least is the horrible Ubisoft Tech Support. Reporting a bug or issue will result in not one, but two auto-generated useless replies, that require you to answer and again describe your issue before anyone even takes a look at it. Then finally after all your efforts and hope of a solution, you will receive some utterly unsatisfying answer like "we are aware of the problem and when we have a solution it will be posted on the forums". For a game that's been out for months and where the issue has been known for months. Seriously guys? That's the best you can do for my money? Let me tell you: it's not gonna fly. I'm advising anyone even remotely interested to not buy this game, you'll feel cheated and it won't offer you the one thing you're looking for: a fun experience.

- Jan 1, 2013 3:49 pm GMTi agree with pretty much everything the OP says and i could certainly add a whole load more of these "glitches" my g/f got me AC3 for xmas and at first i was really excited about it because i had really enjoyed AC1 and 2 but this has dissapointed me on so many levels,im sorry ubisoft but you have really f###ed this one up, you had the chance to release a truly amazing game but instead you released a complete and utter donkey.... :-( on the plus side when it didnt freeze up on me and i could actual play the game it looked like it would of been a good one,i managed to get through the main storyline and then went straight back to playing oblivion which being it is nearly 7 to 8 years old makes AC 3 look like it came from a zx spectrum.... ;-)

I completely agree, Ubisoft have butchered the AC franchise. Revelations sent alarm bells ringing but I figured it was a stumbling block, they had me sold on the three year development.
So I was extremely disappointed with it, even MP isnt as good the characters are more difficult to spot. ANd why oh why did they remap the controls?
Whatever happened to kill executions, Connor takes ages to kill ONE enemy with his unnecessary moves, AC3 is an utter disaster and as OP said, bugfest

are you playing on PC? i dont know but i played on ps3 and although i had some glitches and bugs, it certainly wasn't unplayable. good game but i liked the other ones better. Connor is probably the worst main character in a game ive seen in a long time.

[/QUOTE] yeah ive got it on PS3 and ive had a lot of bugs and glitches including a few times where it has froze for no reason and ive had to unplug my console to restart it,the idea was a good one but ubisoft have delivered a big fat turkey and yeah connor isnt the best character and also why does desmond look so different from AC 1......???- Please wait. - Jan 4, 2013 8:53 am GMTI am on PC it's buggy as hell. There are indicated actions that the character just won't do and more than half of the time you don't feel you are in complete control of the character. The port to PC seems more like an afterthought on the part of the developer and the result is a complete piece of trash.
