- The Bottom Line:
- "Almost, but not quite"
At this point, It gets very irritating that Ubisoft has now released 4 different Assassin's Creed games, and in all 4, the controls are totally different. Is it so hard to ask, for them to keep the same or at least very similar controls each time. Imagine if they had changed the controls for Call of Duty each time they released a new game, It is pointless and irritating.
The mini games are where this game fails in my books, they create all these mini games where there is no difficulty setting, and the AI is insane. Lose a game in 1 turn is not my idea of fun. I think it would be better if they would just leave these out of the next game, time consuming and not at all fun.
Credits have a run time of about 25 minutes and are not skippable, so be prepared for that massive annoyance when you finish the game. There is a cut scene after words, but not at all worth waiting that long just get to watch it.
The only plus I will give this game is that the story line is actually pretty good. Not as Good as 1 or 2, but still descent. There are a few points in the game where they make it seem like you can make game changing decisions, but then they make them for you, kind of pointless.
Missions are not to difficult or to easy, they are just about where they should be. I do not recommend this game if you enjoy getting achievements relatively easily, you will waste numerous hours trying to complete the mini games and side missions with much frustration.
To sum up, it had the potential to be great, but they should have kept the old controls, ditched the excessively difficult mini games, and opened up the ending instead of almost closing in the way they did.

A resonant story, and tense oceanic battles make Assassin's Creed III a rousing success.

I have to admit, this was a good game... but AC II and Brotherhood are DEFINITELY the highlights of the series.
