- Difficulty:
- Just Right
- Time Spent:
- 20 to 40 Hours
- The Bottom Line:
- "Ambitious"
Another decent Ubisoft game, this time in the form of a sand-box style TPA game.
You play as Altaïr, an expert assassin in the medieval "Holy Land" who is charged with taking care of several high-class targets in order to fulfill the sometimes ambiguous story's objectives.
Ignoring the story, the game play itself is initially great fun and you'll spend a good few hours scaling tall buildings and jumping seamlessly from ledges, cliffs, buildings and other objects. The combat is also impressive and feels like you're actually part of a swordsman's dual.
The main gripe I have with this game is its repetitiveness, in that you pretty much partake in the same type of either assassination, pick-pocket, reconnaissance or gather-information-and-beat-the-living-crap-out-of-someone-missions.
Aside from this repetition, the game is great fun to play. However since the repetition is there, it wares thin quicker than one would want and stops this from being a truly amazing game.
