The developers go in-depth into their Euphoria engine to show off the amazing things it does in Backbreaker!
poor throwing animations
@ Xconbud they stated that there will be no injuries :/
this is revolutionary for sports gaming!
@ bamarolltide16 this game doesn't need an NFL license When you play madden and you pick a team what is the difference between your team and your oppenents??? the only difference is the different colored jerseys and the names under their bodies I am sick of people saying this game needs NFL teams when it doesn't because it wouldn't make anything different
Red Dead Redemption uses this same engine!!! Can't wait for either of these two games.
Madden is horrible. I hope this game at least opens the door for other companies to get off their duffs and make a football game. EA being the only ones making a football game is sad.
i'm very curious to the type of injuries that will be possible...imagine playing a game and some super rare hit paralyzes a guy. That would be amazing to say the least.fingers crossedXX
I cant wait till they start using this in boxing and mma games
Aaaa innovation in a football game, would never happen in Madden
at 2:00 the 2nd defender looks like he couldn't turn fast enough to make the tackle right. Hope this isn't in the final game. Would be a big problem on defense
All games need Euphoria, loved it since GTAIV
im sold!
it may not look as great as other games right now but if it forces other sports games to up their games, then us players will be the ones that win. i hope this game does well
been waiting for this game since i first saw the euphoria demo probably 3 years ago. hopefully ea and 2k will try to use this for their games. it shouldnt be hard for 2k since take two used euphoria for gtaiv.
looks like this euphoria aspect of the game is really in depth trying to create a truly real life simulation of the human body and how it reacts to being hit etc.Just might give ea sports a run for their money?!
Only thing they need now is for the NFL to actually sign rights over to this game so EA sports will stop messing everything up.
looks cool...i just hope it plays like a real game of football
sounds interesting, I wonder if the ppl on the side lines (players cheerleaders, camera ppl) will have euphoria as well, that would be cool, it's those lil touches that give a game depth and polish, but EA might wanna watch their step, here comes a contender...
This is the right step in making a Rugby game for the next world cup....Next Gen Systems Need RUGBY

sure it looks nice and all, but if you noticed the QBs passing it looked like someone who has never thrown a football in their life. yeah sure euphoria looks all nice and dandy, but wasnt there another football last year that was supposed to be a madden killer and it ended up being terrible. In addition all the players look the same, maybe it was the demo they were showing but having them all look like the are human specimens and athletes is not realistic no matter how you put it. In the end this game will end up in my opinion dissapointing more than impressing people.
Wakko19991, couldn't have said it better. As much as we would all love to support our own real teams and be represented online, by the colours we fly when supporting those teams at the stadiums or watching them at home, I would hope this game will apply such groundbreaking advances to a strong, customizable online multiplayer element (with an intuitive league algorithm). So that in place of popular teams, we're provided a very personal experience, with a tenasious community. I don't usually go for sports games. I feel it defeats the sport it's self in cases of it mimicing popular and simple sports (that's what friends, a park and a bat and ball are for if you ask me). But us Brits don't usually get many chances to hangout with many like minds who understand and appreciate American football... As someone else before me said, this will be a first day buy for me too
Wow, their abs are so big you can see them through their jeserys. And for some reason alot of videos, news etc. are being released about this game, but a great game like Blitz The Legue 2, didn't get hardly any attention.
They need to start using euphoria with a lot of differnt genres. Like TheGreyArea stated, euphoria with a FPS would be amazing.
Original ideas in a Football game? No wonder, EA Sports is not involved. I only hope they will copy Pro Evolution Soccer customization options. PES not only allows to create any player or team but also put all this information in files that are conveniently shared by the fans. This is a necessity to any sport game without a major license to back it up.
from what i've seen & heard from the designers & producers of this game i will support it. maybe a 1st day buy for me
They may not even need an nfl license to make this game successful. From what I understand, they will have fully customizable teams and a logo creator. If the creator is anything like what can be done in Forza, then I' m sure some pretty creative things will be made by us. Enough so that our teams will have their own identity. If we have the ability to take our players online and compete in leagues that may be enough to get them in the door with a strong push, but the big factor is if they can compliment the dynamic nature of the action with solid gameplay mechanics and eliminate the cheap rubberband play found in madden. I'm going the get this game regardless to try it out and support their efforts. Everyone talks about a madden replacement or option and hates EA exclusivity, but they will only break if WE put the competition in the market like we did with the 2k series. I say we because competition doesn't become competition unless we say so. A superior game is not competition unless it is bought.
I love how this game is coming together, BUT... I am DESPERATE to see the euphoria engine in action in a shooter or an RPG. Really looking forward to seeing how it will work out in backbreaker. If these guys combine the use of this engine with a CLATTERRING brutal pallet of sound effects, I can imagine a good running back take-down being enough to make your teeth rattle :)
I will commit suicide if this game is not released in Australia
im sold !!!!!!!!
looks sick
I am skipping Madden this year for this.
OK, I am going to go out on a limb and say (but only from what im seeing) that madden has amazing competion that only won't be better than madden only because of the NFL liscense not being availible.
Another game that used the Euphoria physics engine was GTA 4. In my opinion, it made the game at least 4 times better becuase of it.
EA needs to Buy this technology! After seeing these physics in action with REALISTIC gang tackles and other vicious hits... it will be Impossible to go back to EA's Madden stale canned animations carried over from year to year. Time to STEP IT UP!
when ever this game is a success they should start making nfl games
not bad
this... could change everything
bro go to there web site. Theres tons of crap on there.
I'm definitely looking forward to this game, but after years of hearing nothing about the game other than Euphoria, I'm pretty tired of 'Euphoria'. Please tell us something concrete regarding the game of football. Playcalling, passing mechanism, coverage schemes.... anything other than 'movement' and 'euphoria'.
one word " BEAST "
Man this looks amazing. I'm hoping it won't be a bare bones exhibition mode only, or just single season. I'm hoping for a full franchise, but of course I will have to get my hands on this to really see what it has to offer. Madden, you just got served!
*Looks at EA* Madden's going to have to get ready for some competition for the first time since NFL 2K5. Remember that time EA? When you had to care about Madden's quality?
Euphoria is the real deal... Madden should have used if for 10 but they are still on the old fashion Motion-Cap. more games need to use Euphoria... GTA pulled it off extremely well.
Oh, they need to work on those throwing animations, the QB's release is slower than Tim Tebow's lol
Looks like 2k animation on steriods. I will definatly be looking into it more, because I've been waiting for a refreshing take on football games. I know Euphoria tweeked the engine to where it's perfect( I think they've been tweeking the engine the whole time it was delayed). I can't wait till this is released. It could be the Little Big Planet of football(user-created content/teams).
For some reason this has me thinking that fumbles will be happening on damn near every play. looks good otherwise
i cant wait for this game! Euphoria needs to be utilized in ALL games, it is the best! (see GTAIV if you need more proof)
man this is really cool, I wonder HOW they were able to define and simplify how someone will react to a any circumstance. Whatever they did, I wonder if the same type of reflex simulation could be applied to something other than impacts, like maybe calculate how an enemy reacts if you startle him or something.
I like the look of this, will definitely be picking it up when it drops.
