calverrlz posted...do you like playing with 60 FPS/updates per second, aka at double speed, aka in a way the game is not a goddamn snail marathon? if the answer is yes, leave it alone for now, because it's bugged. and pretty goddamn horrible this way.
I have no idea what you people are talking about. I have not yet encountered a single bug with EE, and it has run faster than my install of the original game every time I've played it. Not only does the game itself run smoothly, but I haven't encountered a single loading screen. Maybe you people just need better computers.

...And you're a liar. Certain bugs are UNIVERSAL. Like the ones with the journal and certain quests.
And of course you don't see any loading screens--BGEE doesn't have loading screens! And telling people to get a better computer if they're seeing bugs in a game... Jesus mother****ing Christ, what are you, ten? Congratulations, you've just made the most immature comment I've seen on this board.

I'm a liar? I said I haven't encountered any bugs, and that is the truth. I never said there WEREN'T any, just that it is clearly possible to play the game without running into them, as I have miraculously done without effort. You can't call somebody a liar just because they don't have the same exact crappy gameplay experiences as you.
And did you just say "you've just made the most immature comment I've seen on this board" directly following "Jesus mother****ing Christ, what are you, ten"? That's really cute, kid.
Maybe you should reread what I said. I said that if the game is RUNNING SLOWLY or you are SEEING LOADING SCREENS you need a better computer, not if you are seeing bugs at all. When I run the original copies of BG1 and BG2 on my computer, saving, loading and changing areas results in loading screens. They usually take less than 10 seconds, but they are still noticeably slow, considering the games are over 10 years old and my computer is relatively fast. The fact that they were able to make all saving, loading and area transitions INSTANT (to the point where I can quick-save while my characters are walking and I barely notice a hiccup in their progress), I think I can safely say that it is a noticeable improvement.
You should really work on your reading comprehension a bit before you decide to speak. Probably grow up a little too.

I really like it.
Katanas and Scimitars actually look awesome now, as well as some of the new paperdolls.
The new NPC's are all cool and I'm really digging Rasaad at the moment.
I haven't even tried the Black Pits yet and that's supposed to be a whole new experience completely, aside from the main game.
Another thing I'm digging is not changing the disc every 10 minutes.
All-in-all, if you have the money, go for it.

There may be some disappointment, but I'm happy I bought it.

i think it is totally worth it. for me, its much more visually pleasant, the widescreen mod hurt my eyes on my monitor.
