Baldur's Gate Hints & Cheats

First, write this in the console: CLUAConsole:EnableCheatKeys()
Use CTRL+6 to view the previous paper doll and CTRL+7 to view the next one.

Write this in the console: CLUAConsole:CreateCreature(''xxxxxx'')
Replace the x's with one of the codes below.

When in the game (and have edited your baldur.ini file) press [Ctrl] + [Tab] and type in CLUAConsole:CreateItem('xxx') where xxx is one of the following:

First enter CLUAConsole:EnableCheatKeys() in the console via Ctrl+Tab
Ctrl+1: change paper doll armor type
Ctrl+2: darken screen
Ctrl+3: lighten screen
Ctrl+4: show interactable objects
Ctrl+6: change to previous paper doll
Ctrl+7: change to next paper doll
Ctrl+8: shows text boxes
Ctrl+9: shows sprites
Ctrl+A: animate sprite
Ctrl+B: shows last FMV clip
Ctrl+C: got to next chapter
Ctrl+D: debug dump
Ctrl+F: turns to character
Ctrl+J: jump to space under cursor
Ctrl+L: shows coordinates under cursor
Ctrl+R: heals character under cursor
Ctrl+S: select a sprite animation
Ctrl+X: shows position info
Ctrl+Y: kills character under cursor

Use a text editor to open the 'Baldur.ini' file and under the heading "Game Options: enter the line "Cheats = 1." Then during gameplay press control and tab to open a text box at the bottom of the screen and enter the following codes to get the effects:

(Note: For the last two codes if you use a British keyboard you have to press shift and # to get the speechmarks)

For use with the CLUAConsole:CreateItem("xxxx") cheat

1. Open the file called Baldur.ini in your Baldur's Gate folder. The default location of the file is:
C:Program FilesBlack IsleBaldur's GateBaldur.ini
2. Copy the lines below (highlight them and use CTRL+C) and paste them below the [Movies] entry.

3. Save the files and run the game. You can now watch all the movies from the main menu!

If your PC or any of your companions with a constitution less than 18 levels up, have him/her consume a Potion of Fortitude (CLUA-code: POTN28) before hitting the Level Up button. Though the potion lasts for a limited time, the HP increase is permanent.

When fighting the monsters in the cellar during the Prologue, take the items you want from the NPCs that join you. Then export the character, then exit the game. Start a new game and import the character, and you will still have the items. You can repeat this to get multiple copies of the item.
