Still a great game, but with some unnecessary add-ons.

"Been there, done that"
Let's get something straight. I love Arkham City. It's just a fantastic game. Since I don't feel like giving a whole review of Arkham City I will just be covering the Armored Edition exclusives. I'll just say if you really want to know my full opinion on it just basically watch AngryJoe's review on YouTube. That covers all the basics pretty much for me.

First let's talk about the WiiU gamepad controls. They take some getting use to but after about an hour or two of using it I got pretty use to it. The biggest problem with it is due to the fact that because I'm use to the Xbox controller that when it tells me to hit the X button (which is swapped with the Y button on the WiiU gamepad) I accidentally hit the wrong button. The touch screen controls are aggravating as it does require you at times to extend your thumb or hand in a very awkward manner. The B.A.T. mode is very cool although it didn't really feel like I ever needed it. In fact I would say it actually worked against me at times when face the larger enemies by making me think I was doing more damage than I was actually doing. The WiiU Gamepad mode is pretty much as you expect. It's Batman Arkham City on what is basically a hybrid of the iPad and DS. The reimagined gadgets aren't really noteworthy. They just made some of them used solely by the WiiU Gamepad.

There are a few minor changes as well. The changed the player models of both Batman and Catwoman to make them have a more Armored suit. With Batman it looks neat and kinda makes sense, but with Catwoman. . .I'm not sure exactly the story behind all this but it just left me scratching my head as to A.) Why does Catwoman have a highly armored suit. B.) Why does she have the same B.A.T system as Batman. And C.) Why does it seem as though Batman basically gave her all his gadgets and stuff. I just don't know what's the backstory behind all this. Maybe I missed something. Also some of the sounds that are supposed to come from a radio come from the WiiU gamepad, it's neat. That is all.

All the extra DLC included are nice and I'm glad they included it. Besides that there really isn't much else to mention.

Overall Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition is pretty much unnecessary if you've already bought the original game. If you haven't and you want a hardcore game for your new WiiU then sure, buy it. In that case it is better than the original since it has all the extra content. The moral of his story is that if you've already bought Arkham City then you don't really need to buy the Armored Edition, unless you just want to spend you money willy-nilly. In that case I will take that extra money off your hands.
