Are you getting murdered from the air? Here's what to do.
Unlike call of duty Battlefield 3 reinvents itself each installment so it has not had the last 5 years to work out all the bugs!!!!!!!
@Alucard9114 It has been forced to reinvent itself because it has yet to find a winning formula that can sustain over the long term.
Shotguns weren't nerfed. In actuality they've made them better. Pre patch the spread was ridiculous. They watered down the auto's for sure though.
Great video and thank you for the tips, but the Aircraft problem is still too freakin annoying!! Taking focus off of the objectives and just having to deal with aircraft all the time is worth going back to BF Bad Company 2. Yes it is still there guys and fun as ever!!
yeah thanks guys..another method for padders to screw everybody else. as somebody on the wrong end of the soflam all the time I hate this. even in this video they are base raping..Are these gamespot employees and is this how they play the game. i dunno..maybe this is the wrong site to hang out..i know the soflam is supposedly legit but it is being used autonomously all the time to target enemy vehicles on base...you want to use it..stay with it..and dont put where it cant be taken out..the soflam is a portable targeting system for infantry to spot heavy armor. it is not supposed to be operated autonomously..it needs nerfing..if you cant play without cheating..dont bother..this goes for the guys who made this video and the editors at game spot..FYI..im most frequently an engineer or assault..i never play recon because i hate campers.. im a good helicopter pilot though its hard to get one...the tactics they use are legit..but base raping is not..use the hardware but use it properly...dont spot the base.enuff said
Thanks for watching everybody! Comment or pm me for requests on the next video! @wuushew You can look us up on bf3stats.com, which is more comprehensive than battlelog. There's a link to our battlelog pages there too.
@nyran125 How is BF3 immature? Also, letting Javs and GMs target air vehicles was a very stupid mistake on DICE's part.
i wish i found Battlefield fun enough to care about things like this. No single player practise modes for jets and helicopters etc..its ludicrous.. Waiting for ARMA 3. For those that want a more mature realistic experience.
What a good little video that was. No bull, no hysterics, no loud noises and no flash. Just entertaining because it was interesting.
Thanks guys! Finally we have a way to tackle chopper crews! Stingers just don´t work anymore, at least now we have some alternatives!!
Nerfing the shotguns was worth it to get rid of USAS spamming.I love pump action shotguns in games, and the one in BF3 is no exception, but the USAS was way too overpowered especially compared to the other shotguns.
Me and my bud usually team up in a tank if the air vehicles are giving us hell. I'm usually support and man the third seat in the tank while he's an engineer with a javelin. We then switch between the guided tank missile and the javelin depending on targets. Works pretty well, but actually being one of those air vehicles is most effective by far.
I gave up playing due to air hogs and no one else wanting to do anything about them but me. Did not realize javelin was so powerful on air vehicles. No problem takin them down using other means, but the entire game becomes so involved with dealing with these flies it is just plain annoying. Need more ground vehicle vs ground vehicle maps.
How come can't find these guys on Battlelog? Anyone who puts out a tips video should have the balls to display their stats. Also there are very very few effective AA strategies. Jets are total rape machines at the moment.
Thx for the tips Gamespot now all I need is a tank body to help me lock down those helicopters and jets. yep nothing beats taking down jets and choppers with a shell right up there rear end
so I'm guessing that you need a soflam in order to have the javelin to shoot down aircraft with the javelin
I find it stupid that jets can ram and survive, get rid of that goddamn mechanism. I shot a helicopter with a tank and it didn't instantly explode killing everyone, show me how that's even remotely realistic. I'm glad they brougth out this update but ramming still needs to be removed, it's cheap and tacky.
Aww man the rammer missing and hitting that building was hilarious  But I agree with a lot of the comments here, the patch really did too much (i.e. completely changing 90% of the guns) and in some respects it feels like a totally different game.
My hope would be that EA/Dice fix their mistakes. If the virtual firearm reflects the actual firearm, great! There is no need to change them. If the ballistics are good, don't change it. Keep the realism for firearms, vehicles and etc. I haven't bothered with the latest update. In fact, I haven't played Battlefield 3 online for two months or so. Aside my dislike for people taking several shots (center mass) at close range with a .50 caliber machine gun, I did get tired of people using aim assist religiously. Which is also why I don't bother playing Call of Duty's online multiplayer all that much.
The latest patch has ruined the game... Keep in mind I still walk out of matches with high KDRs' and good stats; however, the gameplay just feels clumpy and wild. The guns are terrible, and the spray feature they added is unrealistic at close range. At point blank range spray would not be an issue. At distance i 100% agree. But point blank?
These strategies have been around the whole game. The only difference now is that stingers suck even more than they used to, aircraft are more powerful, and armor is weaker. It's stupid that aircraft can take more damage before being disabled than a tank.
How about making the game work on the first day, the Sniper Rifles(worthless) also especially on Hard Core Mode, and give what the consumer wants not what designers want implement their own ideas.
BF3 is the most fun I had in a FPS in a very very long time nice tips btw, and sorry MW and CoD just suck when compared to this extremely entertaining game, destroying a chopper with a rocket just does not seem to get old. AND btw if the air aces don't get flares, stinger turns to a very deadly weapon, cause unlike javelin it can lock on even if they got stealth and ECM
Snipers NEED GRAPPLING HOOKS. and bring back the power & speed of the usas-12 with frag rounds and frag rounds in general. Yes for the new maps coming BAN frag rounds. Thats how you sort that out, simple.......people crying about the power of frags and speed of the usas, if your dying Your Not Playing Well...Play Better lol
Personally as a leathal secondary gunner in attack choppers, what i do is place a soflam on the ground such as a hilltop or building then get picked up by ur teammate in the pilot. helps both u and ur pilot especially of the secondary gunner has guided missles and the pilot has heatseekers
Little note Ramming is frowned upon. Some servers on PC will kick you for ramming. Only reason ramming is frowned upon is the dmg the jets don't take from the impact.
The strategies presented here are all very solid and completely dependable... if you have reliable teammates. The problem with aircraft in BF3 is that they are very, very hard to take down singlehandedly. Of course, you might suggest that this is the point - that one soldier cannot take down an attack chopper realistically anyhow. I agee. However, BF3 is not real life, where troops are trained on how to react and work together in a situation where a jet or attack chopper is bearing down on them. What BF3 needs is Bad Company 2's AT4 - to give skilled individuals on the ground the ability to counter skilled people in the air, which, right now, they cannot do unless they have certain unlocks and skilled team/squadmates. I'm all for team play and teamwork, but sometimes, your friends just aren't online and typing things into team/squad chat takes too long.
Well Jets can't get shot down from the ground any more so if you get air radar.....well, you WIN! That any why do scout helicopter flares seem to not work?
