The Battlefield franchise, for all its openness and set-piece battles (in MP) will always have my heart. This game is definitely going to be no exception. I still like the Modern Warfare franchise for its frenetic pacing and Hollywood storylines (com'on, who doesn't think Price is a badass?), but the Call of Duty franchise is starting to show its age. There's an advancement of tech every time DICE releases a game. Maybe it's time Activision rethinks its PR and create something fresh. Certain formulas are entertaining for only so long before they become hackneyed practices.

I'm a BIG COD fan, but I must admit, this trailer looks fantastic, almost too good to be true. But if the actual game is half as good as this trailer looks, the COD franchise needs some serious rethinking to compete.

FREAKING AWESOME!!! words can't describe how epic this game will be!!! ps.i'm just sad 'coz right now cod fanboys are starting to realize how good battlefield 3 is..and sooner or later everyone of them will play battlefield 3 (can't blame them, besides its for everyone)..too bad we'll be crowded with cod fanboys : ( meaning we have to deal with "NO SCOPE & QUICK SCOPE SNIPING, CAMPING, ETC.." I love how a BF3 ad turns into a console war and MW3 hate session. Honestly, why can't we, as gamers, just enjoy as many experiences as possible? The main problems with CoD are the many imitators which saturate the market with linear experiences and the annual release schedule which can make the series tiresome. CoD is fun, particularly when you're just goofing around with friends or want a mindless thrill ride campaign, and BF is awesome as well, particularly when you want a deep, tactical online game. As glad as I am that the game isn't being compromised for consoles (having been a fan of BF as a PC series), I'm disappointed that the console versions will have compromised map sizes because I haven't been able to upgrade my PC in years. But honestly, there are tons of great games on consoles and PC, and if you say that one or the other isn't worth having then it's really your loss (due to pathetic narrow mindedness) because both sides of the spectrum are awesome.

@itchyflop EA/Dice haven't announced the official specs for BF3. The leaked Gamestop specs say the recommended requirements were: a quad-core CPU, 4GB of RAM, and a Direct X 11 compatible GPU with 1GB of RAM to run it decently. The PS3/360 version will only run at 30fps.
