A source close to EA China now confirms via NeoGAF that Battlefield 4 is coming to existing and future platforms.
According to the same source published Battlefield 4 for PC, PS3, Xbox 360 and "next generation consoles", 23 October next year.
This makes BF4 one of the first games for the next consoles from Microsoft and Sony are expected to launch the next big console war in autumn 2013.
Player will support 64 players on PC and the next consoles, but the figure will be less on PS3 and Xbox 360 - perhaps the 24 governing in BF3 today?). The source also claims that the game on all platforms will be settled in the magical 60 frames per second.
And there's more info. Battlefield 4 requires a constant connection to the Internet, and will facilitate easier for beginners to get into the gameplay.
Battlefield 4 will run on Frostbite 2.0, which is the same engine as BF3 and MOH Warfighter. However, BF4 use 80 percent of the game engine's potential, while Battlefield 3 for comparison only uses 30-40 per cent.
Battlefield 4 will take place in our time and spacious three playable factions: USA, Russia and China.
People who pre-ordered Medal of Honor: Warfighter, has been promised a place in the closed beta test of BF4, but probably will not start until some time in 2013

- Nov 29, 2012 7:28 pm GMTFuture platforms is excellent news.
- Dec 8, 2012 4:26 pm GMTI am excited for the beta... and for the opportunity to play this on the next-gen, as well, but I would like to save it all for next gen just to get the most out of the game and the Frostbite engine.

Now don't get me wrong, yeah I think you're alright, but that won't keep me warm in the middle of the night... - Feb 5, 2013 9:47 am GMTSo it appears to not be that much different than BF3. The two games won't be that much different it sounds, except for visuals (which I wasn't that impressed with them in BF3). Plus more than likely the next gen games will cost more so what incentive is there to get BF4 on next gen if you get the same experience on 360?
- Feb 5, 2013 9:56 am GMTPlease don't bring your crap to this board as well. We get it.
How can you possibly judge a game with only false information and abso*******lutely nothing relevant to its similarities to the previous game? - Feb 7, 2013 9:37 am GMTspecialkid8 posted...

Do you intentionally not pay attention or does it just come natural? I would say yes in either sense considering at least half of the things you said in the BF3 boards and the reading comprehension now.
And another thing, welcome to the real world where people have opinions that are not always 100% positive. Something you still haven't learned apparently since you don't want to see anything negative about your beloved DICE. - Feb 7, 2013 10:13 am GMTNone of that has anything to do with anything.
We still know zero things about this game and you've already decided it looks identical to Battlefield 3. Do I actually need to point out why that is ******* stupid or do you think you can figure it out on your own? I don't care if your opinions are positive, negative, or marshmallows, because they are none of these things. Your "opinions" are no such thing. They are just false information. It's one thing to think something. It's something else entirely to just be wrong about something. - Feb 7, 2013 10:33 am GMTspecialkid8 posted...

Dude, you have some problems. Maybe it was coincidence that the term "kid" is in your name.
First, you came in with your attitude, you started it all off. The fact that my little post set you off means you are too committed to this game already.
My post was directly based on the initial post. We don't know anything specific details about the gameplay, but those points aren't about gameplay, are they?. However, to say those points don't sound similar to BF3 currently is clear denial, like your BF3 posts. You clearly have a comprehension problem since I didn't say BF4 looked identical to BF3, I said it appears the game won't be different than BF3, except for the visuals. You know what that means? Let me spell it out for you to help: it means the visuals will be better than BF3.
My opinions are no such thing. That's pretty hilarious. Can you prove it's false information? Besides, does it matter since I'm basing my post off the initial post?
You don't like what I have to say, fine. You are too defensive about this game already, and that says loads about your outlook for BF. You do have a few options: don't read what I say, or read it and ignore, ignore me completely (some advice: there's an ignore button and I'm going to use it on you because I'm tired of your BS and you being wrong in your posts and points since BF3 and MOH), or you can leave this board entirely. I don't care, I'd like to assume you're a grown man but I find it difficult. - Feb 7, 2013 10:39 am GMTLet's be serious for a minute. Where did I defend the game at all? If one is defensive they must be defending something, correct? Again, I don't care what your opinions are about the game because they are completely baseless. We have no real information about the game and even the "information" we have doesn't actually say anything about the game. With this given, you have still decided to start spreading your herping and derping on this board. Where does it saying anything about anything being similar to Battlefield 3?
- Feb 8, 2013 12:59 pm GMTJust to make another point, but it's practically a given anyways. Since it's coming out on both systems the gameplay will be tailored towards the lowest denominator, which is this gen. So whatever the next gen system does so will this gen, except possibly player count and visuals.
As I mentioned the incentive pay for more will depend on those two features and if people want to shell out more money just to make something look good when it'll play similar to the 360 and cost less, which a lot always say they want gameplay over graphics. However, if the community is split between the two systems, how will it affect the community on one console? - Feb 8, 2013 1:53 pm GMTHow did games like this handle it in the beginning of the current systems? I imagine most people will go for newer and better like with most things. What people do stay on 360 for whatever reason will probably dwindle relatively quickly as they either upgrade or stop playing. I don't really see a community split being too big of a problem. Also, the upgrade in hardware does a lot more than plain graphics. The physics, lighting and general aesthetics get better as well, which falls under a similar category. But also, we get more pf the "PC experience" with bigger maps, more players and vehicles, etc.
- Feb 8, 2013 8:06 pm GMTI'm sure whatever was said was good stuff, same ole same ole probably. I'm just glad I don't have to repeat myself over because someone doesn't understand or reads something different than what is said, especially when a game is already being defended from basic opinions while proclaiming there's no evidence for someone to say such things. (ironic huh?)
Whatever might have been said, I stick with my opinion because it's simple logic, neither game edition will play differently while one will cost more. If frostbite 2.0 uses more of its engine next gen, yet both games would have to be the same, then the difference must be only visually.
