Best Rhythm/Music Game

Let's face it: The entire rhythm category has become dominated by guitar simulators. Sure, our valiant musical forebears such as PaRappa and Gitaroo Man paved the way for all of the beat-based action that followed in their wake. However, nowadays when you think of the rhythm genre, you can't help but picture some guy all alone in his apartment, standing in front of his television with feet planted wide, one hand gripping a fake guitar neck, and the other stretched to the heavens in a flippant grab at mock-rock stardom. The best rhythm games these days don't simply let you match beats to button presses; they make you feel as if you're right in the middle of making that music, too.
