Best PS3 Game
In what has arguably been the best-ever year for games, the PlayStation 3 has undoubtedly had its strongest showing to date. Finalizing a top five was tough, not because we couldn't think of five games worthy of being nominated, but because we could very easily have made it a top 10. One of the arguments we often hear leveled against the PS3 is that it doesn't have as many great exclusive games as the competition, but the fact that only two of our top five PS3 games of the year can be played elsewhere makes a compelling case to the contrary. Two finalists also achieved scores of 10 out of 10 when we reviewed them earlier this year, but don't think that that automatically makes one of them the winner.

mgs4 has opened my eyes. changed the way i look at games. it is the best game i ever played and I'm a pro gamer. i really recommend this game to Ev3ry 1. truly the best game ever. I'm afraid there wont be any games like it. i really wish they wouldn't had made it now so that i could have this feeling inside me some other aspect of my life. that is all. ( pro: pc gamer/ ps3 gamer / xbox360 gamer )
This is a no-brainer. Whoever dosen't say MGS4 is the best PS3 game must be stripped of every game and console he/she has. The game is the most award-winning and highest rated PS3 game. There is no way it can't win. (Just look at the polls)

Oh my god i think i Hideo Kojima is a genius. He put in zero effort to make a woeful game and he gets critical acclaim for it. He definately has a few tips he can share with the rest of us. Best game of the year is Call Of Duty 5

Who the F*** is voting for little big planet for ANYTHING positive?? That game makes me ashamed to have ever called myself a gamer. After having played that game, I am now dumber, uglier, and an overall worse person than I was before I played that game. I would rather build a $5000 PC and only see a blue-screen-of-death than play that game. I now have to go shower as I feel violated by the malware you call big planet. Ick.

For sure MGS4 is a fantastic game and I myself started playing it all over again once I completed it, but I am also surprised that GTA IV didn't poll more votes.......I also began playing that once again after completing it and in it's own right that is a great game too!
ha most good 360 games blend in with other good 360 games. but those few great PS3 games are EPIC. interesting... the EPIC games for PS3 to me (gran turismo and MGS) the ones people will drop $$$$ for an hd tv and a ps3 arnt made in this country...when the do something they do it right
again MGS 4 :P can't it stop :lol: but now when I look at the "Best PC game" it had 19238 votes, the "Best PS3 game" has 19220 votes and the "Best X360 game" has 18680" votes and I laways thought that X360 pool will have at least 2000 votes more and PC pool 2000 less votes but it showed other :lol: my vote got LBP :D

Point well taken sigma, I was more referring to the non-award coverage, i.e. the hype, the freakin '10' score it didn't deserve in my opinion. I see that MGS4 is kickin az in these awards.

Hm. GS and I actually picked the same game that time. While MGS4 is a great game, I would expect GS to be all over GTA nuts like they have been, or the amazing ingenuity of LBP. That was a hard field to pick I admit though.
notice how xbox games are all third party for that award where ps3 are mostly all exclusives show how much better ps3 is
Metal Gear Solid 4 was the best PS3 game of the year. Followed closely by LittleBigPlanet.
MGS 4 should have won, its not perfect, but even long Hours of Inactivity make it fun and enjoyable

Disappointed to see that Valkyria Chronicles didn't make the list but I'm a huge MGS4 fan so I'm happy nontheless
