I tell you this, I will not be happy when either XCOM: Enemy Unknown or Torchlight 2 goes out in round 2. I have only played the demo of XCOM: Enemy Unknown, but I enjoyed it so much that I will buy it eventualy.
that was the demo of the game the game cant be the best of the year there are alot of games that defeat xcom bitterly like dishonored,black ops,max payne and.......
@J4m3sR4n0r72 Before you buy it, I owned it, and for the first 10 or so hours, it's one of the most addictive games i ever played, but from there on it gets repetitive, once you have most of your facilities built, the lack of strategic dept, the simplistic and repetitive combat system and basically the same random type maps generated everytime, with the same random goals, makes it is an unfulfilled 12 hours romp at most.

The first one being too difficult and the second just outright unfair to Minecraft !!
2 Like mmm an unfair list in some way, Guild wars 2 and Dishonored are my tops.
Gravity Rush should be there too, but is sad how Gs bashed the game.

7 Like @trustyassassin The lottery is know for being merciless! The brackets were filled by drawing ping pong balls from a bingo-machine.
The poor SSX people. They came out with one of the best games this year and Gamestop completely passed them over in their genre voting (for Sega Football Manager??) and then placed them up against ME3 on this list. I know it's random but throw SSX a bone here. This is definitely not tricky.

@Dayrakies I find it pretty stupid that FarCry, a game that was released LAST WEEK is strong contender for game of the year.

It's the game of the moment right now, if it had been released 1 month ago the chance of it winning wouldn't be so high.

Skullgirls should get more credit, it's an amazing fighting game.
Also Trials Evolution is better than Persona 4 D:
4 Like @XclanOriginal Trials is just a physics engine based platformer while P4 Golden is a 80 hours RPG with solid gameplay and deep storyline. It would have been harder to make P4 rather than Trials since it is all about driving on obstacles.
@Virtual_Erkan @XclanOriginal It depends, it's harder to code trials than persona, persona is rather simple, it's long but simple. It's not harder to make it only took more time.
