Special Achievement

GameSpot's special achievement awards call out those games that distinguished themselves in very particular ways, either as being outstanding in a particular, traditional area, such as having exceptionally impressive technical graphics or good voice acting, or as being at the forefront of an emerging game industry trend. 2007 was very much a year for games with highly distinctive attributes, which made choosing our special achievement awards a very challenging task. This is why we have made sure to call out both the finalists and the winners. Remember, a maximum of only five games were chosen for each category--even making the cut as a finalist is a distinction unto itself.
