Dubious Honors

Best Game No One Played

When you step back and take a look at which games become best-sellers and which games don't, it's often a pretty sobering experience. Time and time again, awesome games are completely ignored at retail while less-deserving games are snatched up by eager customers who are oblivious to the far superior game sitting on that same shelf. Once again, this year had a number of memorable, engaging games that were left collecting dust, and this award is meant to recognize those underappreciated gems.

    @BenBenBen93: Most of those games sold less than 200k
    @STARS_Splinter: What are you talking about Ninja Blade was a great game -.- like a slightly worse version of Devil May Cry

    Was expecting that to be Cryostasis, given its showings earlier. Shocked!

    But seriously, Ninja Blade is not a good game.

    My vote goes to Big Bang Mini it was good game shame no DS owners seem to notice how great and how addictive it actually is.

    @Simba13

    Well it depends who you see as "serious gamers" the real hardcore guys own every console and will play quite a lot of Wii/DS games maybe not in comparison to other consoles/PC. But yea I do agree that games like Dead Space would have sold better on other consoles but then the gameplay would have probably been different. There are some great DS too but there is a ton of casual crap that covers it up. Fire Emblem anyone? Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor? Knights in the Nightmare?

    I get the feeling that relatively speaking, the sales of the games depends on the formats? I doubt a "serious gamer" would bother playing anything on a WII or a DS? There are also more 360's around, so of course more customers!
    I may be wrong but I would bet money that Dead Space Extraction would have sold much better on the 360 or PS3, just on the strength of the name, as a follow on or addon to the original game maybe?
