Best Platformer

Platformers chronicle the eternal quest of trying to get way over there when you're stuck standing right here. Motion is the most important element of a well-constructed platformer, showcasing the pure joy in traversing a meticulously laid-out obstacle course. It's all about the simple joys: jumping over treacherous and oftentimes bottomless pits; striking down evildoers with a hop on their head, a swish of your cane, or a knock from your wrench; or sprinting through a colorful environment, trying to find hidden secrets or just marveling at the background. These games exhibit the pure fun of navigating an inviting world.

    The problem i have with mario is that while it has always been great, what has really changed? fundamentally nintendo releases the same game time and time again, which is why from an awards point of view i don't think it really deserves to win.

    Lol I agree Quofan... I can honestly say that Ratchet is the 5th best game listed out of the 8 of these that I've played. New Super Mario Bros is clearly the best! Has anybody who voted for Ratchet even played it? (Not that I'm saying Ratchet isn't a great game)

    My vote goes to Ratchet and Clank great fun game and the plot was good but the end was a bit of a shame in my opinion.

    New Super Mario Bros Wii and Ratchet and Clank both good games I don't mind which one wins I enjoyed them both alot.

    It's thanks to Mario that Ratchet and Clank even exist. Mario beats them in a heartbeat.
