Good controls, impressive graphics, and intelligent storytelling can improve just about any game--but a truly terrific cast of characters is hard to find. But it takes a lot of effort and care to craft a single character that can define an entire game and elevate it to levels that few others reach. It takes even more effort to create a single character memorable enough to be worthy of winning this prestigious award.

Our nominees include Isaac Washington from The House of the Dead: Overkill, The Maw from The Maw, Ezio Auditore da Firenze from Assassin's Creed 2, Yusuf from Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City, and Ellis from Left 4 Dead 2.

    bad choices but I went for the funnest character to play as which was that dude from assasin's creed 2.

    Alistair (Dragon Age: Origins) or Morrigan (Dragon Age: Origins) the best!

    How is Ezio anymore different than Altair? Seriously? Anyway, I voted for Eddie Riggs, because he cracks me up, plus voiced by Jack Black, who I love.
