@grim0187: I played through MW2 and the only thing I skipped was the airport scene. I finished the game in less than 3 hours. $65 divided by 3 hours= $21.66/hr that's approximately half-again what I make! A videogame shouldn't make more per hour than I do.

@Topherfrom Ok did you read my whole post? I did not mean that people don't have freedom offline. I mean that the amount of trash talking online and argueing like in these forums would not take place face to face. People aren't as rude in person. Have you read any forum where two people are posting after each other insulting each other? Face to face that argument would not have continued for so long because someone would eventually get punched. Online people can mess up the game purposely ruin what should be a cooperative effort. I forgot which game has a team based mode which allows you a single life to try and complete the objective. It makes the team more cautious about running and gunning it. If some random guy goes and runs off stupidly and gets himself killed now the team is at a disadvantage. I'm not saying that offline people are forced to be a certain way but people do conduct themselves better. I've read a forum where someone kept posting the same insult again and again. Do you think the gamer the insult was aimed at wouldn't give him a black eye?
@ Spartan_1004 I Can't Believe you just said " I don't play online because people can act the way the want without consequence. " How do u expect the real world to be ? This isn't Utopia.
I have to agree with grim0187 except I do think the game looks good. I don't play online because people can act the way the want without consequence. How many people do you argue randomly with in person? I'd imagine few with the amount of trash talking because you'll get your face punched at least once. I don't know why it's such a bad thing to bring out a game that's similar to the last. How creative do you have to get with a title every time you want to release a game. Also like in general advertising it's much safer to release a game under a familiar title than bring it out as a new IP. Vanquish was awesome and I bought it the day it came out but how many people bought it or even gave it a shot? We owe Binary Domain a shot. It reminds of Vanquish and the consequence system looks interesting. It is trying something new and just because it's a third person shooter doesn't make it Gears of War (even though I like it). I don't like defining a game by one of the top games that uses the same style. If that was the case first person shooters would be just another COD/Halo/BF, third person=GOW, platformer= Mario/Little Big Planet, and so on.
@El_Zo1212o Unfourtunatly every online game is gunna have douchbaggery. It comes with being able to be anonymous and not have to answer for what you say. If you think battlefield isnt going to have this, your very mistaken. 2 1/2 hour campaign? What the hell are you doing, sprinting through every mission and skipping every cutscene?
@AlkalineHero: give Captain America: Super Soldier a go- you might be surprised. @grim0187: I hate on CoD because it breeds dysfunctional behavior online(hacking, modding, and all-around douchbaggery). And because I don't play them online, it is ridiculous that they intend to charge me 60 bucks for a 2 1/2 hour campaign that I can't even play together with a friend! And don't tell me to wait for a price drop, as Call of Duty games are notorious for keeping their price. Matter of fact, about the only thing worthwhile in a CoD game is it's resale value.
The only good Sega game I've played recently is Vanquish. It's really cheap and I suggest you grab a copy if you haven't played it; It definitely deserves the score it received here on Gamespot. This, however... doesn't look like it holds up to the same degree of awesome.
@Im316 Oh, the typical call of duty comment. You know, no thats not the reason. The game just doesnt look good to me. It has a multiplayer only vibe, even though it does include a single player, it just looks very dated. Im just gunna address this now, since I feel like saying my two cents on the call of duty subject. People LOVE to hate on something thats popular because it makes them feel like their not one of the crowd. That their unique in some way. And yes, Call of Duty is being milked. But unlike Tony Hawk, the still seem to capture some amazing action set pieces in the campaign. I for one LOVE playing through a CoD campaign. I dont care if its "realistic" or "feels too samey" its STILL fun. Multiplayer maybe "meh" for some people. Sorry, but Im sick and tired of snub nosed internet commenters CONSTANTLY bashing cod because they wanna be the cool kid who sits in the corner of the cafeteria and only listens to indie bands with a 15 person fan base...
I declare this GOTY. I wish I could say Elder Scrolls and BF3 would be a close second and third, but the innovation and polish Binary Domain brings to the table put it in a league of its own.
thank you for explaining us how to play capture the flag and linear bomb planting mode. if the game is gunna look like this at least make i unique
Idk what this is but I have to agree it doesn't look that great or unique, I lost faith in Seva a long long time ago (Sega Saturn) and this doesn't help convince me other wise. Idk what they do other there at Sega but they need a kick in the rear, this looks (style wise) like a PS2 game, too bad
More like Uncharted. I like the idea. I don't think the community is going to be that large unfortunately.
This MIGHT be good, but I'm predicting a flop, sadly. There's just something about it that screams 'generic'. I'm personally more interested in another newly announced February release: Syndicate. Especially after seeing that recent gameplay demo.
Also, if you check the next video(single player) you'll find that the AI for your squad mates is demanding. I would not be surprised if they had to cut back on the visuals to be able to do that for consoles in this gen.
Single player, for me. MP doesn't seem appealing. Maybe I'm wrong, but >I was geting this for the curiosity of the single player story and play anyway.
@darkfall_225 well, if people thinks it looks bad they have a right to say so, and thats a good thing. Critisism is needed for evolution. And I also think this game looks quite outdated.
So what I'm getting from this is "unrefined Gears of War rip off." Actually, there's also "Uninspired Gears of War rip off." Who is behind this generic art design ? ? ick.
I didint see a MP coming for this game since this the yakuza team and they mainly focuse on SP. I will give the mp a run but im mainly getting the game for SP.
Character movement looks absolutely terrible. And with the emo squad crap in the single player this game just looks like crap...
Come on Sega, you can do better than this. The game concept is great but lately most games you release look and feel like they should have been released 5 years ago. That is a clear sign that you need some new blood! I mean, compare this games graphics and feeling to Battlefield 3īs beta.
So, besides your character's shoulders being frozen in place...what are you bringing new to the table?
Why does he have a Canadian accent? (trust me, I'm Canadian, that's definitely what a true Canadian accent sounds like) (the way he pronounces words with hard O's like "most") BUT YEAH. WHY?
I'd rather wipe my shi*ty a*shole with my bare hand, then wipe my hand on my own face, than to spend one penny on this game.
Who the hell made the animation for this game? sega has been dead since the last 2d sonic back on the old genesis a great console with great games, but they couldn't compete, if only they had the financial success to keep going but they just kept getting wrose.
Man, why do devs keep pushing out this same-y crap all the time? Do they never learn? Obviously that's a stupid question...
When I first saw it I thought it was a sh***y rip off of Deus Ex. It actually looks pretty legit though. I might look into it...
I would have written Sega off a long time ago had it not been for Yakuza, granted I haven't had a chance to play Yakuza past the first game but I'm planning on buying the PS3 games at some point. This game has a kinda Terminator/Matrix vibe to it but I doubt it would even live up to ten minutes worth of Terminator.....
