Learn what humanity is up against in this trailer for Binary Domain!
If you folks are wondering what the song is in the trailer (because I know I always am when I hear an awesome trailer song), it is Dark Resolution by Two Steps from Hell.
Its just like the plots of terminator and kind of I-Robot. It looks fun enough though. probably just a rental.
Sega has some really good ideas for games but all their games feel like they were developed one or two years ago and then held waiting. They really need to get back to using cutting edge tech. Be a driving force instead of just following what has already been done and adding nice story to it. I am not saying that Sega makes bad games, I am saying that it does not feel like they are trying enough or pushing the limits of how to tell a story, how to suck me into the game. This is a game that I could have really loved but even the trailer makes the world look and feel undynamic. But I like the idea of this game and maybe they can pull it off. I truly hope so.
The game sounds and looks awesome, but I hope it's more than just cutscenes. It's been a fairly long time since I've enjoyed a genuinely intelligent/smart and engaging story married with good gameplay. I mean, I can't even remember the last time I associated the word 'intrigue' with a game story. It's about time that changed.
@aeklagonisi I'm pretty sure Bethesta has it's headquarters in either Australia or UK... And no, just because it has an inventory, it doesn't make Dead Space an RPG. Many games have inventories, doesn't make the RPGs... True, BioWare is American, but not US american, it's in Canada. unless you count that too, then yeah, good exception here. Now let me remind of games like..... Chrono Trigger, FF, Dragon Quest, Monster Hunter, Demon Souls??
@aeklagonisi Seriously? Did you go on all the torrent website and count up each and every game torrent on there and compare the figures as to which platforms they were for? I have a feeling you just pulled that statistic out of your ass and plonked it on here. The logistics of pirating on the PC are far more convenient than on consoles. On consoles the main turn-off of pirating is that the console needs to be hacked, and then games need to be torrented and burned onto DVDs, and then when you play it, you can't play online. On PC, what's the deal? Torrent, mount, install, boot up Hamachi and play with other pirates (and there will be plenty of them). I'm not biased against the PC, nor am I a console fanboy, and I do acknowledge that games will always be visually superior on the PC. I'm just saying there's a perfectly logical and obvious reason why devs are being turned off the PC.
@fearless_alive Well yeah, I never said consoles didn't have piracy. It's just that hacking consoles locks you out of online networks, whereas on the PC it's a lot easier because pirates already have their own networks. Devs lose more money on the PC than on consoles. Also I'm going to whine about Gamespot's 'playlist' system on their videos because it's really annoying when I'm typing a comment and the page just decides to reload.
I feel like this is going to be like the vanquish game. Low key where not that many people pick it up and kicks ass as a 3rd person shooter.
@supertom221 There are NO such rules like those you are refering to. There are great American rpg's like Elder Scrolls, Dragon Age, Fallout , Dead Space (Still an Rpg since you have an inventory and only the same character), Borderlands and the list goes on and on and on... Everyone is accountable for himself and just because some idiots (see SEGA milking yet another ip) fail as always, doesn't mean that everyone fails all the time :) .
@blasterchief Do you realise that just the xbox 360 torrents have a LOT more downloads than the pc ones alone? Piracy is the BIGGEST EXCUSE EVER and the funny part is how 60% of all the torrents are console games. So piracy is not the reason. Perhaps it's because everyone is tired of the problematic windows? Is it because pc specs are too difficult to develop? Is it because they are after the kids who only own consoles? The questions will linger on until someone has the ballz to speak up and explain this phenomenon.
The trouble is, (and I think this was the problem with Vanquish), I don't give a damn about shooting robots. Cold and unfeeling, you can blow the hell out of one and so what? It just gets shut down. Cyborgs are slightly cooler, but straight up robots just won't hold my attention as a foe for very long.
would b nice to flip the scrip: we play the machines to rise against the oppression of humanity
The first Trailer sucked. This one isn't much different... Is this another Attempt, by Sega, to make a some kind of Japanese Gears of War/ SOCOM clone?? Because I though that after Quantum Theory they have already learned that lesson...: FPS and shooters - America. RPGs and story-driven action - Europe/ Japan. Very simple, why can't they just follow the damn rules... An American company makes an attempt at RPG - We get Dungeon Siege 3/ Fable 3. Eww. A Japanese company makes a shooter, we get THIS. Double EWW.
@ raptures330 I own a Ps3, so dont really care about how many people play with a cracked system..... Just pointing out that ALOT of xbox 360 owners in my town, own chipped ones, and DO play online hasstle free, like its a retail copy. The type of person that does the chipping, is exactly the type of person that sells copied Dvds, not sure about where you live, but in uk every single town has that guy, and id be surprised if alot of people in each and every town/district does'nt just go to that guy for their copied games too.
Vanquish = Platinum Games. Not Sega. (Mad World/Bayonetta) Those guys are making Anarchy Reigns. Sega just published it. Anywho: Looks promising. I shall follow this. @Blakeney Modding a console is very expensive in a lot of places. If you don't know a single person without a modded console then you just hang around with pirates or modders (unlikely that all your friends are hackers who like to mess with the system). That does not mean it is rampant, and nowhere near as rampant as PC (just a lot easier and cheaper).
@fearless_alive "just until now piracy on the XBOX and PS3 isn't as significant." Are you joking? I dont know one single person with a normal non chipped/hacked xbox!!! and they ALL play online just fine.... i was under the impression, on the basis of online play aswell, xbox is the worst for piracy! Not many cracked games for pc work online, and if they do its all hacked private servers that not just "anyone" can play within a few clicks.
the trailer is so nice but...sega please I WANT SHINOBI GAME T_T too much shooter i need somthing new thanks god Dark Soul coming this Oct. :)
@blasterchief Every system has piracy, just until now piracy on the XBOX and PS3 isn't as significant. Plus seeing all these crappy games come out, more often than not, from my point of view I always check out the game before i give in to buy it. For example: Sniper: Ghost Warrior (I think). It seemed soo damn awesome, a sniper game where you actually have to use sniping skills. I bought it and it was... well cr*p. Than Brink. Revolution my *ss. Pile of nothing, good ideas, good premise and it just didn't deliver... Problem is that if every game got a demo before release with like, 1 hour of gameplay or so than you could decide if you wanted to buy the full version or not. Piracy will never stop. And that's a fact.
Good Grief!! Keep this Crap off the shelfs please. The main guy looks like Commander Shepard and the black guy like Cole Train. More useless crap to fill up the consoles.
They could have picked a narrator who wouldn't deliver his lines in such a bland fashion.
Hmm I seem to have offended the " Yakuza " fan base...did anyone actually like those games?
the story has been told, but this seems to give it a nice fresh look. looking forward to see more :)
definitely looks interesting and i loved vanquish. also, i bet you find out you're a cyborg during this game at some point.
looks interesting but more of the usual stuff, cover system and co-op, I hope they change the pace and write a nice plot, plus great playability
dam looks great i hope they have a good storyline cuz theirs not to many games im buying these days
i think this could be really good. It seems to have a solid terminator-esque story which I personally love so I will be paying attention to this. Sega surprised everyone with Vanquish I think they could do it again
Wow, everybody seems to think the same about this trailer; it could be good but it could also be a total flop. I geuss it has a cool sci-fi concept, a story, fairly traditional gameplay, and a good team behind the development, but it certainly doesn't jump out and grab you as something that seems very new.
@aeklagonisi Well yeah, we're seeing this happen a lot more often because devs just aren't making nearly as much money on the PC due to piracy so they just scrap support for the platform altogether to save time and money. PC gamers are going to have to really pull their socks up to get devs back on their side. I just don't see that happening. Really, the PC's only hope in terms of gaming is that Steam becomes the one universally used network.
At last something not so common and interesting. Way too many space marine, post apocalypse and military shooter out there.
This game looks interesting, but I'm not sure what to make of this, can't say it if this will be another disappointment from Sega, or a great surprise.
Aaaaaaaah, another game for the 360 and ps3 , which is not for the pc. How original...
Deff. has a terminator vibe to it, which isnt bad. I love the idea of robots takin over and humans standing up against their own creations.
