This thing is just the thing that makes you pissed off if you dont have a certain weapon, or if the events dont fall in place correctly.
Being me, I only have a corrosive Shotgun, And I'm using it on him, I'm on the text of the bosses name when a heater shows up and blows me up when I shoot it, And then there's no other robots around. 30 minutes of sitting under near the health machine are just wasted... This thing makes me want to punch my computer monitor. I wish Death penalties didn't have to be so harsh.
I wouldn't mind help, But then there will be the people who will run off with the loot as im looking through it.

I could pop in with my Salvy and help. I don't think I'll be wanting any of the loot really. I knocked the guy out first shot when he was 3 levels above me, while hanging out on the top. Wasn't really that hard to me. Try slagging him up. Slag's more awesome than you might think.
Edit: It's worth mentioning that I don't have the slag SMG I used to have, so if I joined a fight, it might all go horribly wrong.

I'm not sure why you'd think it would be a great idea to carry a corrosive shotgun anyway. One of the classes EXPLODES WHEN YOU SHOOT IT.

I've shot those when they were right in front of me and taken no damage. I think they only explode when you kill them if they were already in the middle of their suicide explosion animation. Even so, I agree; I do not like being near them.

I did it, However, It took my level 30 friend joining me to sit and die so that if I died, The penalty wouldnt take effect. Although, I will try the B0re skill next time.

try fighting him when he turns invisible. Yep, thats what happened to me. Couldn't see him cept his auto cannons.

If you're Zero, you have a free pass with him if you have Critical Ascension.
It's a rather lackluster skill otherwise due to it's reliance on back-to-back headshots, but against him, the fight goes from a slugfest of throwing ammo on a mountain of health to a hilariously easy 1m fight.
On True Vault Hunter Mode, I was able to reach 40 stacks, at that point every shot did about a tenth of his health in damage (~500k), and increasing. Very satisfying when you realize a melee spec needs to shoot at it for like 30 minutes.

What dictates that you can ONLY use corrosive weapons against him? And because of that, why don't you have at least a couple semi-decent ranged weapons?
I dealt most my damage the first time around with a basic, non-elemental sniper, and just sat up on the stairs picking off turrets or shooting it's "eye". Used an automatic weapon for the bots that ran up close (And in my case, playing as Axton, used the Turret as a decoy) Finished it off with a Tediore rocket launcher.
It's never a good idea to stick with "only" one type of weapon; You don't ALWAYS have to deal highly effective elemental damage, as long as the enemy isn't resistant to it.

It's a 50% bonus to your damage with an additional damage over time effect. Add slag to that, and that doubles all of the damage the corrosive weapon deals. Throw crits onto that, and that quadruples all the damage you've accumulated with bullets and DoTs. It's so far and away better than non-elemental that you may as well use it. If you don't, you're really making things four times harder on yourself than they need to be.
