I dislike them excluding Roland.
Mordecai is some Latin alcoholic has been.
Lilith is somehow...trashy.
Brick is a meat head of annoying.
Roland is cool. Somewhat sensible too.

all the throw back characters are much worse.
hispanic stereo type, check
brick terrible voice actor (why is the va black?)
roland just mediocre
lilth quite possibly the worst direction you could have gone, she goes from a mysterious but badass character to the typical relationship girl and hey gai we're hip at gearbox we have interracial couples derp.
tiny tina imo is pretty good but shes pretty much going to be a love or hate character.
new scooter is fine
new characters all seem to have pretty good direction

Oh God, this. That was just awful. It couldn't have been worse, even if they'd used Ain't No Rest For the Wicked for the credits (thank God they didn't).

After following the storyline, you all forget one thing. That tentacle alien is not "The Destroyer," as that was part of the lie. It's just some alien guarding the eridium in the vault.
Also, I don't know if they got a different voice actor for Brick, or not, but as a Brick player, he sounded the same, to me.

I thought Mordecai was more jewish than mexican- didn't like his personality in two
I never liked Roland in 1 or 2
Brick was okay in 1, but I hate how he's a tryhard badass in 2
Lillith was okay in 1, kinda female doggy in 2

Mordecai in BL1 was awesome, his voice actor was amazing and the lines really helped sell the "complete psychopath flattening out a world full of psychopaths"... Especially some of his laughs after headshots
His new VA is lame, and his new personality is pitiable

Honestly, when they didn't have much of a personality, you could project onto them. It made up for the fact that they were entirely one dimensional, if you were up for it. At some point, giving them personalities was a bad thing, as despite actually making them better characters, it trashed the headcanon of the fans, and they weren't even that good to begin with.

The next game will flush out the personalities of these characters. I can't wait to see Zer0's.
Zer0's already pretty fleshed out IMO.
I do enjoy listening to his unnecessarily long monologues about the littlest things.

he has one? all he uses is seemingly pre-recorded voice clips for all his chatter.

Borderlands 2 made me like every B1 character even more EXCEPT for Roland. I figured from his silly quotes from the first game (ITS LIKE CHRISTMAS!), he would have a crazier personality. Now in B2, he doesn't seem anything at all like what i heard from him in the first game. Especially in the audio logs of him and Lilith.

Aside from the original 4 taking down all the big bad baddies in their life, losing to a robot that took you all of a minute or two to beat for them to be like "ERMEHGED, VULT HUNTER" after?
Unnecessary romance and/or death for ANY character, main or side, is unnecessary. They just threw it in for drama, and I hate that in story telling.

You people are ****ing disgusting.

None of the characters really even had personalities in the 1st game to begin with. That said, I like Roland and Brick the most in this game, mostly because the character development in the 2nd game actually makes sense based off their characters. Lilith is like an arrogant b**** and Mordecai is some sort of mexican drunk so I don't care for them

Actually Jack wanted you to take down Wilhelm so that the power core would end up in your hands so he can take down sanctuary shield so that he can destroy the place. Hence why we are able to kill him easy but I do agree some drama was unnecessary though a lot of it was to make you hate jack or give motivation to several characters to kill jack Oct 3, 2012 3:12 pm GMT
Brick won me over with his line, "You lost me at instead of punching things."

I dislike what they did to Lilith and Mordecai.
Especially Mordecai.
I suppose that can be attributed to the lack of character development in the first, but it was like reading a book, getting my own idea about what the characters should be like, and then having a movie come out and destroy my preconceptions.

Brick seems to be less of a moron and more of an unintentional douche than I would have thought.
Mordecai and Lilith seemed about as I'd have thought.
Roland decided to grow a conscience, and that troubled me slightly. He seemed, in the first's intro, to not be the sort of guy who's comfortable in the spotlight. More of a get the job done and leave kind of guy.
Suddenly he's Malcolm X.
