Why does Maya look so boyish?

I think Gearbox is being very realistic with their design of Maya. Not all women get to have a completely feminine figure, and some just have to deal with looking like shemales.
Gearbox is taking a big step forward in breaking the tradition of all characters being as physically perfect as they can be. And I commend them.
