- "Just plain fun"
Talk to people in my social circle - I'm closed minded annd stubborn. I love me some Nintendo, and to get me to play an XBOX 360 shooter RPG is an undertaking. But when I get out of my gaming comfort zone once every billion years, I can be genuinely surprised by how much fun I have.
Borderlands 2 is one of those games that captures my excitement. Although I found it quirky at first, the game's to-the-point gunning and leveling and massive level of choice really enticed me. I'm running around shooting everything in sight, practicing head shots, taking on missions, and always obsessed with gaining yet another level and allocating another skill point to my tree.
I found some sections of the game jarring - like when I arrived at the midway point and found that the winged dragon things were wicked hard to hit, or when I'd reach a boss and find out that none of my guns were effective against him... so I have to go all the way back to the sanctuary and buy some more guns. I also realized 10-20 hours too late that I can use my eridium to carry more guns... which gets rid of this problem altogether. So maybe its just me. I dunno.
And repetition aside, I really enjoyed grinding my way through pandora, although I personally wish split screen 4 players was an option this time around. A battle mode of some kind would have been cool as well.
I have yet to finish Borderlands 2, and frankly its repetition has me less inclined to dive in lately, but I want to acknowledge its quirky, to the point, and very fun nature.

While a little overrated in my opinion, still a very solid game.

I will make you mad, but so did Captain Kirk. Cheating is a designed in part of play and its necessary and important.

Yes, Skagzilla can be defeated without dying. Lilith used an incendiary SMG, and finished with a shotgun. Proof of one play is placing the bait.Posted Dec 28, 2010
