Borderlands 2 designer Scott Kester talks to us about what's needed to make the world of Borderlands bigger, badder, and better the second time around.
I'm currently playing the original game, I'm having a blast from it! Especially the GOTY edition... Game is sweet, over the top & quite addictive! Cannot wait for the sequel!
There were so many guns in borderlands, but each gun wasnt very different from each other they all looked the same but with different stats
WOW! The original was such a blast. I can't wait to jump into this one. I'm even gonna get the misses to try this one with split screen. TBA 2012 can't get here soon enough.
what to say its BORDERLANDS i am excited but i feel some complications...abt this one they are targeting more on multiplayer rather then campaign..
@thunderboltx7: Borderlands is supposed to look cartoony. It's not a technical issue that it looks this way, but an artistic matter. The textures, shadows, lighting and other technical parameters are of a great quality. Great to see the second title of the series being released. I hope the campaign is more interesting that the first one though. :D
will definitely get this - i enjoyed the 1st game A LOT but there was that lifeless quality to it which made the world feel empty... but now thats all gonna change :)
This is a bit of a tangent form this interview, but does anybody remember back around 2008 when Borderlands was *supposed* to consist of Unreal 3-like visuals and a huge weapon customization system? Whatever happened to that, and why does it still look cartoony?
yes, yes, yes! Love this game! Love the graphics, love the gameplay, the story, the sense of humor, the guns, the mobs, the bosses, the ambient, the lore, the concept-art, the music... Really looking forward to it!
I am getting this for the splitscreen coop! My bro and I are still tackling the hell out of the first game. Its a long wait till september! :)
Sooooooo looking forward to this game, definately gonna get it when it comes out! There are tons of awesome games coming out this year and we so know that this game is gonna be just as good as the last one
I think they should up it from 4 player coop to 8 player coop, and that will make a great game even better.
@Garra12345 Your birthday is TBA 2012? Gearbox already confirmed that June 30 is not the official release date.
When he was talking about how the environments are much more "dens". It reminded me of how Kevin Levine talks about Bioshocks environments and atmosphere.
I like some of the ideas that the Dev being interviewed was throwing out like to free a midget off a shield I can't wait to do that.
i hope they gonna fix the anti-climatic reward system. it sucked hard. especialy the first end boss dropped almost nothing interesting for example. also i dont like the fact that pearlescent weapons are so rediculously rare. just make them certain drops of secret bosses or something that's way better. anyway. is that red dressed defender guy a class?! if so that's awesome! wonder what wacky things he can do with that shield.
@IsaacMelendez31 People who connect their xbox to a computer then use a program to make overpowered weapons, unbreakable shields,etc.. are modders.
but they should make like AI's dat if u bother them they will attack you,if u dont bother them then they would just let u do watever u want that would be a lil more fun i think?? lol
I played all of Borderlands 1 with my stepdad and it was super awesome! Can't wait for this one! :) "LOOK At THIS"-HUnter :)
Smarter AI, no modders, more classes of guns, better story, more varied missions = awesome! Or did I describe what needs to happen with most shooters....
Funny thing, dude look 13 years old b4 he started to talk. I just hope Gear Box do something about the modders that ruined your game. And please better more decent Bosses where you just have to just shot the head/stomach. More tactics for bosses like in Japanese games i.e. shot arms or shot legs of boss to make him fall down/kneel then shot him in the face. Please better bosses and melee weapons would be cool. ;)
What are you talking about, Nier was a great game, regardless of what crap Gamespot put out about it. Anyone who actually likes JRPGs -- which should be a substantial amount of Squeenix fans, would love Nier.
Borderlands was an awesome game, but the reason I love these guys is actually Brothers In Arms: Hell's Highway. That game was super awesome!!
@Death_Masta187 A bit like saying that you can't trust Square Enix because of Nier... Duke Nukem was a blot, yes... But they can be redeemed.
borderlands was an awesome game but it missed out on just a few factors, there shouldve been a dual weilding option, a set of melee weapons which had different characteristics and more vehicles. hopefully borderlands 2 will have this. but that doesnt mean it wasnt a brilliant game..cause it just plain was :P
