I was giving a shield that was modded any idea how I would go about modding wepons or gear.

Chances are you'll get booted a lot more if you do anything beyond storage. I boot anyone with modded gear sorry games not that hard. I'll let a lvl 1 play before I let a modded person ruin the fun. Just a heads up.

I have the magical powers with my computer. My bro got booted from a session after killing Marley with one shot with a weapon I made for him. Players also get annoyed when you ask them for modded gear. Don't use modded stuff except for killing crawmerax or just for solo playthroughs.

Search "Willow Tree Weapons Borderlands" Into youtube, first video gives you all dl links and a walkthrough. But take it from me.
Its game breaking. Once you mod you have fun for like four hours, and then never want to playing again. I used a shield and a smg for Craw and thats it. (Beat him legit the first time) After that I literally tossed them off a ledge while walking away from him.
