Reading this review makes me wonder if the dude even played the game, everything is ingame currency and cash. The whole "no more then a demo" like wth O_o I play free, have access to every skill at the level it unlocks at.
Feels to me he took his info most likely from wiki, the maps are arena's and the game is a TV show in which you participate in. Which was about all that was correct. Uninspired, Bulletrun combines the best stuff from big hit shooters and wraps it in a package of customisable chars, weapons, skills, clothing, it uses an active reload system, heat instead of killcount. Ofc some can be found in (older) games but that is evolution, taking the best stuff (hit indicator BF2, Perkslike system MW, Active reload Gears of War, smaller maps CS1.6) and getting rid of the worst to improve for the next generation. "Old school shooter done right" That with added stuff from later generations can never only be a 5.3 worth...... The controlls are knifeedge sharp, visually it is pretty solid though most that I know set to low anyway to max FPS. There are 7 basic maps and 2 gamemodes and new maps have allready been released.
If you place a review check if the reviewer actually played the stuff. I have been keeping my eye on this since parabellum and the reviewer is soooo off at 60% of his review it is unusable and even worse, often not true at all. That reviews are taken serious means you need to make writing it serious too, now he creates a crooked vision by not being informed properly.
Last but not least.... Wait whut O_O did he say pay to win and memorize your creditcard number? Are you sure you wherent logged into BF:P4F? Because in bulletrun you can get anything with ingame currency, I saved up 3 mainhand weapons and 2 secondairy ones ALL from ingame credits.
This review is so far from the truth that GameSpot should checkout if that reviewer does a correct unbiased job, because this makes me believe the menu and maybe 1 match is all he ever checked.
biggest nonsense must be the "free play = a demo" <_< Free play means no restrictions beside boosters for ingame currency and even those boost anyone on your team (freebees included), no altered stats, no instant maxed skills. Pull your card, dig for the plastic what a total utter nonsense
