When i heard that Call of Duty 4-Modern Warfare won the Academy of interactive art and science 2007 game of the year, i was astonished. How could a powerful game like Super Mario Galaxy be beaten by a FPS?
At the first visual contact, Call of Duty 4 feels so realistic to my eyes. The opening of the mission "Charlie don't surf" was just like the movie "Black hawk down-Leave no man behind". Just amazing! But in the meantime, i wondered myself if i could be able to play this game knowing that you play as US soldiers and British S.A.S. assigned to eliminate a lot of Arab warriors just like the Iraq war. This morally justified consideration was however softened by the fact the enemies was great terrorists and weren't only Arab. There were Russian too. But it remains the fact that the main inspiration was the Iraq war AND THAT IS NO GOOD!
When i finished COD4 on my PS3, i just realized that i have lived a great experience with incredibly realistic visuals and animations, great explosions, fun game play, great sounds and many other things, despite the relatively short length of the campaign mode. In the final mission before you see the credits, you can notice that developers made tribute to Rare ware's Golden Eye 007. They took inspiration from many levels of that great game. My last words: a masterpiece!
