    So I'm ready to prestige now, but can I take anything with me to the next prestige, like in MW3? If so, how?

    do you mean like a permanent unlock? if that is what you mean then yes you are able to unlock 1 thing each prestige

    After you prestige and level back up to level four, you can create your custom classes again. You can use the regular unlock tokens or you'll have one "permanent unlock token" per prestige to use. I think it's the trigger button that lets you use your permanent unlock token on whatever weapon, perk, equipment, wildcard or scorestreak (have to wait to level 7 or something).
