Call of Duty: Black Ops II User Review
Even though Treyarch has shown they have some cool ideas, its still the same old Call of Duty

So with Black Ops 2, Treyarch promised they would create a Call of Duty that finally feels fresh, and even though that may be true in some areas, this really doesn't feel like a brand new CoD and instead just feels like a large expansion pack. The game play doesn't add anything new(and i'm not expecting anything completely revolutionary, just a bit of an upgrade) and the same CoD formula is the exact same. You level up, find the one gun that's the most powerful and only use that until they patch it then find the next best gun and use that. At this point the dominant weapons in Multiplayer are the SMG's, which really sucks because i don't see any variety in play styles between people. But now i'll talk about the seperate modes of the game.
The Campaign: Now the campaign in this game was actually a very unexpected surprise, with player choices impacting the story, a very well thought out, well written story and some cool changes like custom loadouts, the campaign was was actually quite entertaining and has more replay value than any other CoD campaign. They also made the game feel a bit more like a sandbox shooter by allowing you to make choices in which ways you want to handle a situation. For example, you can just run in and follow your usual tactics, or you can use the access kit to hack into a turret system, activate a drone, etc.. I also really like how Treyarch goes with a different approach in the story rather than the usual "There's a Russian terrorist, he hates america just because and now he's gonna start a war because he can" and really makes Menendez look less like an A**hole just because and instead shows that he's doing it because of all the messed up stuff Americas government has gotten away with before. I was actually quite surprised with how good the campaign was.
The Multiplayer: Sigh, now for the multiplayer. I actually really don't mind the multiplayer to much, but I just hate the fact that it's the same thing as the older CoD's. It's use bad guns, level up, get amazing guns and destroy everyone because you played alot. It requires little to no skill to do decently well and makes it require such little skill to get good guns. So pretty much if i buy the game now and i play against someone who is way worse than me at the game but has played longer, so he has better weapons and makes it almost impossible for me to kill him until i spend more time playing and then i get the same weapons everyone else that's a high level due to them having the game longer than others. This really is the part of the game that disappointed me the most.
Zombies: God i love zombies. I loved it in World at war, loved Black ops, and still love it in Black ops 2. Zombies in this game is absolutely great. Zombies in Black ops 2 has multiple game modes, a competitive 4v4 mode, survival on small maps and TranZit, a direct continuation of black ops 1 zombies. Although i don't necessarily enjoy the new cast of characters as the old ones, they're slowly growing on me. TranZit really feels like the way zombies should be, you travel across a large open map and build cool contraptions, among other things. Zombies in black ops 2 really is the high point and the most addictive and fun part of the game, and i will be buying all the DLC for this game just for the Zombies.
So although Black ops 2's multiplayer isn't exactly great and isn't what i feel was necessary to revive CoD, Zombies and Campaign were amazing and really show what Treyarch is capable of.

Took some time to make another Hellsing playercard emblem for the PC version of Call of Duty Black Ops, in this tutorial I show you how you can create AlucarD, as always you must unlock all 12 layers first and buy all the neccessary stencils first.Posted Feb 20, 2011
