Going to start a new game so I was hoping for some suggestions on teammates to play the game with.

So... who shall my party be...

Sorry, TC... for a moment, I thought I was at the Pokémon Black 2 board!
Man, I really need to get some sleep... -_-

    Ahem...

Well, one of the good things about CT is that you can change your party members at will (Crono, the protagonist, is mandatory until a certain point in the game; after that, he too can becomes optional).
Keep switching members so you can allow them all to get TP in battle and learn Techs.

The only important suggestion I have is this: whenever you face a boss, make sure you have Ayla and either Frog or Robo in your party (when possible, obviously). Ayla can Charm items from enemies and bosses, and Frog and Robo are the only characters who have single healing Techs that affect your entire party.

Aside from that, use whoever you want; the game usually tells you when it's better/mandatory to use a certain character in a certain area, so you don't have to worry about it.

doesn't really matter once haste helms + mega elixers are stolen Marle will no longer be worth putting into the party unless forced do for some subquests.

But I mostly use Crono Frog and Ayla as my 3 end of game PC's.

    Crono:
    Good attack
    Luminaire
    Falcon strike
    Frenzy

    Robo: Godly
    Crisis arm
    Dragon arm
    Heal beam
    Uzzi punch
    Electrocute

    Ayla:
    9999 crit at max level
    falcon strike
    charm
    Female equips (obviously)
    kiss

Just insanely briefly going over the brokeness that is this team

And why does Vegh go on and on about slurp kiss AND go on about the abundant megalixers?

If theres so many megalixers then theres no point in slurp kiss...

And Frog can do slurp kiss.....what else?

Robo can uzzi punch+crisis arm, electrocute, Dragon arm crit AND heal a party by himself.

Well I used the stolen elixers mosty NOT for the restore HP that is does I used them when the entire party only has 5 MP left.

But I still prefer Frog and Ayla as my final party since at least 1 boss loves to reduce the party to 1 HP but the boss herself tends to ONLY use that move so Luminare + Frog Squash + Dino Tail with these 2 moves at 1 HP left will end the fight in 1 to 2 turns easily.

Ok, thats a SINGLE move for a single situation in a single fight. Im sure Robo's doing just fine in that fight by starting off with Crisis+uzzi punch and probably going to inflict enough damage before hand that DIno tail + luminaie + electrocute will finish her off just the same.

Or dino tail + magalixer + full powered uzzi punch would probably finish her off as well. And or that fights not that hard and youre at a point of the game to spam megalixers anyways.

So again, you use Frog so he can use Frog squash in a single fight?

How much damage do you get from Dino Tail/Frog Squash at 1 HP?

Anyway, I find them too situational. For huge, consistent amounts of damage to everyone, the most reliable way to do so most of the time, IMO, is through Luminaire and Antipode Bomb III: Luminaire from a LV** Crono with about 80 Magic deals deals over 4000 to all enemies, while Antipode Bomb III, with Marle and Lucca both at LV** and with ** Magic deals over 5500 damage. The damage can be even higher if Prism Spectacles is equipped, but I always use Golden Stud instead because it lets me use my spells more times per battle.

Of course, this is only really relevant against Lavos, Final Spekkio and the Dream Devourer, when you want to kill them faster.

Robo can spam dragon arm crits (with crit up accessory and haste helm) Crisis arm+uzzi punch+crown+prism specs (though you have to watch his hp) or electrocute (youll need some magic capsules though). And can heal obviously so id never not use him.

I personally dont like Lucca or magus because it feels like the only thing you can do with them is spam dark matter and flare and i just get bored of the animation.

I really like how fast uzzi punch is or dragon arm crits because the animations are short. Triple kick is a pretty fast animation until lvl96 when both her and robo can just normal attack with crit+ accessories and haste helms (or tiara).

Id much rather just have Crono crit with rainbow/dreamseeker to make the fight go faster by skipping lumiaires animation.

So we have 3 characters normal attacking bosses to death with crits, thus skipping essentially all animations (especially if you spam megalixers) and destroying everything in record time. Not to mention falcon hitting the majority of random battles for fast victories.

Honestly, i feel ive played the game through so many times and have seen flare/luminaires/dark matters/electrocute animations so much im sick and tired of them.

Like I said, that amount of damage is only relevant against the bosses I mentioned before; nearly everything else just falls dead regardless of what you use against them. Still, if there are more than three enemies on the screen, a single LV2 spell such as Lightning II will usually end the battle faster than attacking three times and waiting for the ATB to fill up so you can attack again (and probably getting attacked in the process).

Also, Ayla is fine because she still hits enemies normally for over 1000 damage, but Robo pretty much wastes a turn everytime he fails to land a critical hit (and, at least in my case, he fails A LOT, even with Dragon's Crest).
As for the animations, I guess it depends on the player; I know I rarely get bored of powerful spells with flashy animations (even now, I still enjoy summoning Knights of the Round in FFVII for unnecessary kickass damage ).

I only used those 2 moves for that 1 boss at 1 HP left else I still kept Ayla in the party but since I had no need for Robo I still used Frog as my final PC.

As for damage depends on their level + accessories so the max I had both do is 5000+ and used it for the optional dungeon bosses that just love to leave party members with 1 HP left as well.

Ive always had luck with crits with a hasted ayla and robo with dragon crests. Felt like you could go through two turns at least before you spent the same time watching a final attack like luminaire.

It kind of comes down to the games easy no matter what though.

Oh and for randoms, falcon strike does the best if theyre all within distance to be struck by it. Then a supersonic spin if its enough to kill them. Then lightning 2 if its enough to one shot them. Then you may want to consider twister if its enough to one shot them.

Finally, if you have to use two moves anyways, you may just want to use falcon strike twice. Its just , obviously, a strong fast animation technique.

I still feel Robo outclasses Frog but then again any party can really take on anyone so i guess go with whoever.
