4 Like Man this guy! Greg Kasavin. is the best. Nothing he says sounds like it's been ripped from an advert, unlike nearly all GS reviewers nowadays. I love, like, when he's talking about the sound and graphics, he really goes in to detail and explain how how and why they enchance the experience. Whereas, with other reviewers, you can almost guarantee now they'll leave those bits till last, and say something generic like "the graphics are really, really stunning" or "incredible sound effects" and leave it at that. Just some things I realized after watching this. :)
I got this game cheap on steam back during the Christmas sales, just played a bit and i'm really impressed on how fun this game is.

Huh... I wasn't aware this and Dawn of War II were made by the same people, but I had a suspicion. I don't have this game myself, but playing DOWII reminded me a lot of how this game sounds, with it's phenominal gun noises and how infantry can get behind cover etc.
The only game that truly change my view on RTS. I love this game. Check out mods for the game. They got a lot more units, different gameplay and even a new faction! Unbelievable! Check the mods online, some famous mod website will feature them.
Ah, if only I had a PC. Looks like it's time to Bootcamp. And here I thought Steam would satisfy all my gaming needs... guess not. :D
underrated? what the hell are you talking about? this game has a 9.4 on gamerankings, 9.2 user score, and I've never heard anything but amazing things from people. I doubt a negative word on it has ever been spoken.
great game i got the gold edition of this and ppl still play it online... I love this game so underrated and a great world war 2 game... Not many people know about it though....
Anybody interested in this game, and they are even milady interested in RTS's. Get it no matter what the price!
This game looks sweet even four years after its release. Interesting how long its review is.
@deathbringer: this is the quintessential rts game in many peoples view. Dont buy this if you dont like rts's
@deathbringer_jo: I don't know, but if you're looking for a game like that I recommend World in Conflict.
@deathbringer_jo Yep it's good and every non RTS fan should also play this and starcraft 2 as well .
I'm not saying I dislike the GAME for it, I'm just not impressed by some of the graphics. They are -very good- in the RTS-type of view, even when you angle the camera lower to see more ahead. But the closer, the worse it gets. Now it might be too much for 2006 and even today to get rid of all the pointy and straight-lined models with a lot going on and not overloading most consumer-systems. But a lot of it could have been fixed with better textures. It's not like it's impossible, even the newer "C&C"-games look better even if they're not as detailed in EXTRA effects and such. I'm just honestly a little put off by half the graphics (but not the realistic style) in 'Company Of Heroes', which is a great RTS-game I was already looking for back in the '90s. I'm sure a next one, with an actual next engine, would just totally push it over the edge. They'd probably add even better gameplay-elements and the graphics would make this game's graphics laughable. But not that these graphics are overall terrible, it has its amazing looks in action, but it definitely has its ugly sides too.
Hm, people go on about how good it looks. First of all, yes, it does look good in terms of how you can zoom in and then it's like you see a "FPS-type" of view or something like that. However, it looks like you're looking at a game from early this decade or something. And yes, I know there's a lot going on in the game. But excuses won't fix the fact that this game has some ugly textures. At least the soldiers you focus most on, they're quite horrible even though they decided to create in-engine cutscenes, which just requires some good looks if you're going to do that. Speaking of which, I also don't like how they lowered the framerate for them or something, it looks all too annoyingly jittery, it only makes it uglier. And no, it's not my framerate, cause it runs the game fine and the cutscenes at quite a high framerate, even on my old thing. Luckily the scenes are well-made so that fights the ugliness quite a bit.

LOOKS SOO GOOD. on another site said it was in the top 5 best ever RTS games. Review didnt really talk about bases and the fundamental part of a real time stratagy. I H8 STRATEGY GAMES WHICH FOCUS ON COMBAT EG WORLD IN CONFLICT, ENDWAR. i love age of empires and star wars galactic battlefield. oh yeah
i think this game is great im no pc strategy guy but this game draws you in and keeps you interested enough to learn more . im on my first playthrough at the moment and afterwards i will try the expansions and then WIC. this game has made me a RTS fan. Spot on review greg thanks.
