Here's hoping someone picks up this game, but I am not holding my breath... :( would be awesome though!

Check out a first look at Amalur in Project Copernicus.
So much talent and potential gone, just because of really bad business decisions...very sad, indeed. However, there may yet be hope. The rights and intellectual properties for the game are up for sale by the state of Rhode Island, and EA has stated support for a sequel to KoA: Reckoning.
Oh well so much for the anticipation lads...38 studios is no more...An article here on gamespot came out just today announcing the studio's shut down. And the reason for that? "The game failed . The game Failed" and that was going for Reckoning. You think they will sell the rights for this one or cancel it as a whole?
wow, I really like the artwork, dudes :D looking forward to at least try, who knows, maybe this will be the next mmo :)
I wonder how the combat system will be. If it is like the one I've seen in Kingdoms of Amalur, well, it will be awesome. For now I stick to Tera, the best mmo I ever played (and I played WoW, Aion and SWTOR).
I also second what "buccomatic" said.
This looks gorgeous and I can't wait for more trailers and gameplay :)
Does anyone know why it says 'Copernicus'? is that in 'Nicolaus Copernicus'? or maybe just were they got the name.
These news commetts are f***ed up. Everytime I post, I get redirected back to the home page and have to re-post for my comment to show up.
Lol, Amalur is pretty fun but I'll never understand how someone can get excited over a teaser trailer that doesn't show any actual gameplay.
@HipHopBeats every1 who played KoA already knows the combat is awesome! It is more like DCUO and Tera than WoW or Everquest
@Psychokillaz You're assuming the combat will be the same in the MMO as it is in KoA. Have they said this would be the case?
if the combat is like tera ,c9, or amalur, then i will definitively jump right in. it's got the beauty, now it needs the fun.
Looks great, im wondering tho how big the game world will be, and if we will be able to jump lol. Hope its alot more open than kingdoms was
@greendude123 i honestly played the demo, was unable to jump and said fuck this. i deleted the demo thereafter and never bought the game. how do you have an adventuring action hack and slash with no jump dodge feature. dafuq
It doesn't matter if the MMO market is oversaturate (and it isn't). A good game is a good game, and I, for one, am willing to pay for a good game, no matter what the genre or how many other games in that genre are out there. And let's not forget that WoW is going all panda on us. The time for a new, great MMO with a modified WoW-fantasy feel is here. Things are ripe for this game, which looks to have the most beautiful environments yet in any MMO. Environments are a HUGE part of the experience. They are, after all, where you spend the hours and hours you play the game. Throw in the awesome combat in KoA, and I will grab this game immediately. People like to speculate and be negative, but a lot of doubters will be won over very quickly once this game gets out. And you have to respect the studio for taking the time it needs, despite its financial difficulty, to polish it slowly and carefully so that we get a good, well-working product at launch... not the broken crap that, ahem, a certain blistery cold studio in California just put out.
another wow clone...
If someone would tell me this is WoW 2 on the making i would beleive it... And im not even joking
@AzatiS have you ever played KoA? lol It is nothing like the turn based WoW. This is an action combat MMO closer to DCUO and Tera than WoW
@AzatiS How the hell can you call this a "WoW clone"? By the art direction and some zone environments? Also WoW DOES NOT have that cell-shaded type thing going on. Just sayin.
Then yousir have never played any other games, kinda reminds me of COD players. They dont wanna clone WOW they want to make it better. the only reason WOW was so good cause it came out first. If you play a bunch of MMORPGs like I do and look at WOW. You willl see that it is a complete watering down of the MMORPG genre and I daresay piece of crap.
@ExtremeGamer564 Wow came out first? I've never heard a more incorrect statement. MMOGs have been around since the early 90's, when they were called MUDs. Ever hear of UO, Asheron's Call? Long before WoW. Unfortunately WoW was just the easiest and most dumbed down of them all (almost no consequences), and so pulled in the most non-gamers when it came out.
Another MMO BLAH! after playing WOW for 3 years i have no interest in joining another.
at least 30% of your thrill is driven by the art design of the enviroment/world you play in RPG games, I love the way they did it on Amalur and here as well. if you think about your favorite RPGs, the place where you play has big impact on your experience
the only problem with this is..its yet another fantasy MMO and possibly releasing alongside Elder Scrolls Online ..
There are hundreds of MMO for the PC and this will be swallowed up, spat out, and forgotten within 1 year of release. BUT make this a console and PC MMO and you may have a market which could hold a slightly bit more. Considering the monetary issues the company is having this maybe a bold, but ultimately a stupid move.
Sorry. Amalur was a great game. Main reason was because of the fighting game-style combat. Put that in an MMO and it's a win button, people want more action in their MMO's, just look at Tera. "Forgotten" is just not a likely outcome for an Amalur MMO. But, I do agree that the fan base would grow exponentially if a console release became a reality.
Alamur is a great game, this I do agree, I enjoyed the game and all the DLC up to date. This is a great series and I hope it does well. But a MMO is not the best way forward with this game. There are too many MMOs out there for this to survive. Will it be a good MMO? probably. Will it be a lasting MMO or turn profit. most likely not, even less so if it was for PC only. FinalFantasy and Phantasy Star Online did reasonably well for consoles, and DCU was a flop on all formats, but the whole time I played KoA I could see it being a MMO, let us hope it is not one exclusive for PC.
KOA: R was great as a single player game but turning it into an MMORPG will be very disappointing. The game was originally meant to be an MMORPG but even the developers said it was better as a single player game.
WoW . Never played KoA but after seeing this video i am really in the mood of it :)
Awesome scenery and music.
@adamomars You can use as many words as you like, and try and conceal it in imitation logic all you want, but the fact still remains, my comment wasn't the first one to throw around a stupid idea in this little conversation. All you've succeeded in accomplishing is reminding me why I don't comment on Gamespot. People say stupid shit over stupid shit for no reason and convince themselves it's worth throwing their two pence in where it didn't belong in the first place.
I might be, but i doubt it. I advise against making insults like that though. it's not even an appropriate question to ask, whether were on the interenet or not. Nope, I was just wondering if you were serious, because i made tunes like that up on my play-time keyboard when i was 10. God it really sucked.
