Cloak should share the same bar as armor, period.
It's hard to disagree with this and not come across as the cancer that's killing gaming...
Having cloak available at any time is terrible game design, cloak OR armor not cloak AND armor.
It's brainless to play and utterly sickening to experience.
...There's several ways to counter both. In fact...you take extra damage when you're cloaked, and you move slower when armored.
And i find it hard to think of it as "brainless" when you have to actively switch between one mode and another to fit the situation.
You don't need to switch to armor, it's automatic if you take the perk. That's the brainless part and removes most of the danger of running around with cloak on.
People just run around cloaked and start shooting to break it when they see you, then they let their auto-armor kick in.
It's stupid game design, the only thing you ever need to toggle is cloak.

I guess if someone wants to gimp themselves by putting on a perk that does nothing more than automate your armor then they can go for it.
That's all it does. Thermite arrows, Airburst, Grenades, fists, and EMPs do a good job screwing that up as well...
You're complaint is minor. if you have a problem with it i feel bad for you. It's not any different than if someone did it manually other than they waste a perk to keep from making one twitch movement.
P.S. The Auto Armor won't kick in if you hit a guy with stealth on.

It kicks in if they break cloak by shooting, I've done it. Automating a major game mechanic while failing to balance either of them is poor game design. Have you noticed that sprinting no longer rapidly drains cloak either?
In Crysis 2 you could maybe sprint for two or three whole seconds before your cloak would break, now it's closer to 10-15 seconds.
They want to make the game automated and easier to play because EA is obsessed with reeling in the CoD audience to the point where they don't care if they alienate fans of the game they are screwing up.

Wrong. The armor kicks in when they get injured...If you hit them and it knocks their cloak off, it won't auto armor. If it did I wouldn't be getting OHK on cloaked guys with a bow.
And yes, sprinting does rapidly drain your stealth bar. Did you also notice you move slower with cloak on? Even while sprinting? Try it, Sprint with cloak...then turn it off mid sprint and you'll speed up a bit. Also in Cry 2 you only had one shrimpy Energy bar. Now you have 2 that you can use effectively if you're smart about it.
I don't use the AA perk because it's useless and the waste of a good perk slot and i would rather tap the button to do it myself since it's almost nearly just as fast. There's too many ways to counter the AA, and it takes away more than it gives, that this is all just laughable of a complaint.
It's not bad game design, it's unintelligent users that don't understand the tools they have. They may have made it easier, but it's for the sake of drawing new players to the game. Good, I'm glad more people will play it and maybe it'll get the recognition it deserves. Want Dedicated servers? then you need a larger fanbase. Want a larger fanbase? Make the game simple to pick up and play, Hard to master fully.
Also a good point to take in. This game is mainly a Single Player experience. The multiplayer is there for icing. I'm good with the Multiplayer to increase the longevity of the game, but the meat and potatoes is in the campaign. As long as that isn't touched, i'm cool. I'm still glad they made a return of the separate stealth and armor bars, i never understood why Crytek would make an inferior product in the nanosuit after Cry1.

It's an EA game, when was the last EA FPS in recent memory that actually had a decent single player component?

It's Arbitrary.
My Opinion of what was a decent single player game may differ than yours. I Enjoyed Cry 1 & 2... They are trying to make 3 a mix of those two. Going off of the Multi, I think they're on the right track.

I enjoyed Duke Nukem Forever, but that doesn't really mean it was a stellar game.
Crysis 2 was criticized for having a weak campaign mode.

Not me. I enjoyed it. Linear, yes, but i still enjoyed it. Again, It's arbitrary and based off of what everyone's opinion of it is.

Uh, by who? YOU? Because you're wrong. Nearly all the criticism of C2 was of the MP. The campaign was very well received.

EA has pretty much no say in this game they are just publishing it. All the decisions are made by crytek. So saying the EA want to "reel in the CoD audience" is just not true and you just firing on all cylinders since you are mad at a game because there is something in it you don't like. Get over it. They changed it for the better and if crytek didn't think so they wouldn't have changed it. The reason sprinting doesn't take up energy is because when they were doing very early tests of the game and they tried it out it got GREAT reception from the fanbase. After going back and playing crysis 2 its still a great game but its not nearly as refined as crysis 3. Sprinting take up WAY too much energy and then using a power on top of it you are out of energy in like 10 seconds. And for a game that the main focus is the nano suit that's not a lot of time. - Feb 1, 2013 9:51 pm GMTMander1861 posted...

http://i.imgur.com/ugyXx.png - By OhHiRenan - Feb 2, 2013 12:56 am GMTThis game will surely not maintain a community for a number of reasons. The cloak and armor isn't enough to keep an online community. Once that's out the way, you have a game that doesn't have much going for it. Netcode, like Crysis 2 till this day, is atrocious. The mechanics, while extremely standard, still feel sloppy. Killstreaks being tied to collecting tags, in a game thats not fasted paced nor has a high fps is foolish. This works in CoDs kill confirmed because the game is insanely fast, takes low amount of bullets to stop someone and plays on much smaller maps. You can collect tags quickly and effectively. In this mess, you move like a tank on huge maps. This results in killstreaks damn near being forgotten about. Only one I've seen in maximun radar. No CoD player is going to leave a system were killstreaks flow to join one where killstreaks are scarce. This mp was a huge waste of resources that could have went into a beefy co-op component. I guarantee a co-op aspect would have lasted a lot longer than this competitve mp will.

Well, well. Here we have one of the many topics I'm sure we'll see from somebody that is used to doing well in Halo and COD and is getting his butt handed to him in this and is blaming the game!!!
For all the screaming from know-nothing idiots that this is just a COD clone, this plays very different than COD. Learn how to play it and you'll do better. And, you might even like it.
I loved Crysis. Loved Crysis 2. Loving the beta. I HOPE Crytek makes more games just like it.
I loved Crysis 2 also, but this beta has a lot of improving to do. The aiming is horrible (I aimed and attempted to shoot someone, but somehow they killed me instead), that invisible thing is camper friendly, and there's probably much more but those are the two things I noticed the most, before I took it off my hard drive.
I'm gonna try the beta again though.
Did you actually play Crysis or Crysis 2's MP? "that invisible thing"...
Good grief are you intelligent. The gameplay blows Crysis 2 out of the water and anyone who played Crysis 2's beta knows that Crysis 2 ultimately played differently. - Feb 2, 2013 5:54 pm GMTGamerguy92 posted...
I did play, but I forgot that it was called a cloak. Assumptions, lol.
Anyway, I played again for several matches (too many to count, lol) and it's not that bad. The aiming is nothing like CoD, lol. There's literally no aim assist in this, which is a good thing. The only problem I have is that sometimes, it seems like people are able to kill me faster than I'm able to kill them, if I'm not using a pistol.
Aim assist is automatically enabled so if you can't kill then you suck.
If you can't kill anyone fast enough then you're simply not good at the game. If you can't be bothered to get better then don't play the game, don't come here and complain about it.
This is one of the few cases where I can legitimately say just get better at the game. - Feb 2, 2013 5:57 pm GMTGame Player05 posted...

No, Crysis 2 was criticized for not being like Crysis in terms of level design. The campaign was fine.
