Take a look inside Crysis 3's Liberty Dome, and some of the weapons you'll get to wreak havoc in it in the debut trailer for Crysis 3.
the nice thing about EA "cannibalizing" the industry is that eventually the older players like you and me will have more power and will go another direction. look at the music industry - many jumped the ship and now release their stuff without a middleman, or use youtube and its channels for promo releases. many have actually stopped caring about money and release their art/entertainment for free now. same thing with movies - the technology came to the point where people can take a cam, a few friends and make an awesome piece of art. anyone can make a good movie nowadays. you will eventually be able to do the same thing with PC gaming, and EA will be sponsored by teen girls and boys who listen to britney spears and what not. DIY has always spawned greater creativity, innovation, change of status quo and mentality of consumers. you and me baby, will make awesome games.
the original game was superb, warhead was a fail though. crysis 2 was a huge step backwards, and it looks like we're not going to see anything new in the third installment. this is a money generating franchise now, just like the fail that is cod, moh and the other clones. boooo

only prohpet!! love crysis 123 u know guys? i think this game compare with games like COD (call of duty) and MOH (medal of honor). only persons who play this game knnow what I SAY.
looks sooo good!!! @Psycold i think you playing as Alcatraz still ( Mr. Faceless) at the end of Crysis 2 he even said, " they call me Prophet"
They're trying to transform Crysis into Master Chief. But they cant do it. It's a total Fail.
It seems like even the developers aren't following the story they are writing themselves. Crysis 1 you played as Nomad, Crysis Warhead you play as Psycho In Crysis 1, Prophet was your boss and gets kidnapped by aliens, eventually you find him but they never explain what really happened to him then. Crysis 2 you play as some new guy, I don't even remember his name because he is faceless. Prophet is dead right from the get go, you see his lifeless body laying there. The whole game you play as Mr. Faceless. Crysis 3 You play as Prophet.....WHAT?
@cf_Kage That's my point. Why show us "Actual Game Footage", if we're not going to like it, or even understand it?
I want to see better 3D usage in this one. Crysis 2 was good in 3D but this time I want to see things popping out of my screen at me as well as the depth of vision that is already in C2. I also hope that it is not as limited in space as the last incarnation, open spaces please Crytek!
@kos_maverik - The cuts were too fast to determine anything, except for tonnes of motion blur
one question. I know that the nanosuit makes the player invisible, but why the weapon you're carrying become invisible too? Because you are touching it? If so this means that everything that you will touch with the palm of your hand will become invisible? Or am I wrong.Just thinking (sorry 4 my bad english)
@ Spacemancer you have a valid point. i'm just saying, as bad as crytek is at plots, i find it hard to believe that even they would fail to explain why the ceph are still in New York in the plot of Crysis 3. i did not mean to imply that you are lacking in intelligence. my apologies.
'tactical options available...' New York was a mess at the end of the last one, not sure how it being overgrown will improve the levels - hopefully more stuff falling down around you. I would like to see human adversaries in this one too, as the variety was good in Crysis 2
@ Hairygrim: About the setting, but think about an overgrown city somewhere in the Amazon delta, surrounded by miles and miles of forest or Mayan/Aztec ruins...why is that not better? About the Bow. Yes crossbow is a better idea, but you will not be running through a forest shooting your crossbow at 10 aliens that are coming at you. The idea behind the bow is complete silence and slowly taking down aliens one by one...not having the ability to kill 10 aliens in 10 seconds with a weapon that cannot be heard. Crossbow would be too OP in my opinion.
yeah, right...they are aliens with alloy armor and he shoots them down with a bow...Pathetic ! What a stupid idea , but they should come out with something instead of a story, right, why not a bow ? Crysis 2 was a total failure , let's hope the third one will be a little more interesting. For me the first Crysis is not matched yet. It still stands today among best games.
Other than the cool awesome bow, I don't really see any improvement. Hope it meets it's standard.
if a promo video does not show steady game play, but insists on flashing various cut scenes together with bright lights and stirring music, I am always concerned they are covering something up. Maybe EA have told them not to include an ending.. :P
The ceph stalker opening his blades and lunging to attack in the end of the trailer made my day. :)
@crazylooser2003: "They ported it to consoles, which would not have been able to render the huge open game environments." Sorry but since when could this gen's consoles not handle open world games? Releasing Crysis 2 on console did not ruin the game; it still stands up there as one of the benchmarks for PC graphics. Far Cry 3 is being released on consoles too so does that mean it's going to be a disappointment too? I for one think the environments look great - there's something that really appeals to me about overgrown cityscapes. What annoys me is the bow - why not feature a crossbow instead? Normally simplicity for maintenance, reloading speed etc would be reasonable arguments but this thing looks reasonably high-tech. Automatic/semi-auto crossbows or something a la the AVRiL from UT3 would be pretty damn cool.
Sweet, now lets hope that the PS3 is just as good looking as the 360 or at least equal to the PC version. @crazylooser2003: Because the premise you're describing is very interesting but it probably wouldn't be used in the actual game because it doesn't sounds exciting.
Adding to my previous comment. Another thing that I did not like, is the setting... I mean why NYC? There are so many games based on the layout of NYC, the urban environment...there are a lot of other places in the world. If I was an alien trying to conquer Earth, why would I set up my base in NYC, where it is vulnerable from every side? I would make it in Himalayas, it would take ages to find that base... What Crysis did right, was throw a person on a Island that was a Jungle, an environment with which we are mostly not familiar (if Crytek would have added native predatory animals, like snakes or pumas kudos to them) I feel like Crysis 2 had no creativity behind it...feels like they said lets put some buildings up, make the player go here and here down this path. Oh, forgot, have to put some aliens here and there for the player to shoot...wait, we also forgot a writer to make a story for this...
@ crazylooser2003 - Amen brother, it lacks the wide open environments of the original that just made it more fun. I liked Crysis 2 though, it's still a good game, though waaayy too easy. Breezed through Crysis 2 on the hardest difficulty with the nano-upgrades in a few hours just avoiding combat and stealth-sprinting, the only hurdle was the first pinger battle in the station, i wiped the T.S one out with about 5 c4 packs at its feet the second appeared. lol, i was so damn cheap.) Chances are if they make a third game and don't balance the stealth/sprint upgrades more (or get rid of them) it I'd play exactly the same cheap ass way again :P Conclusion: the upgrade system was extremely floored in Crysis 2. 'Crysis' or 'Crysis: Warhead' though? damn those two were hard even on the easy difficulty! amen,
ffirst thing that jumps to my mind look at this is: cheap.. is this gonna be second game with new stories and couple of new guns? It looks they're using same environments ..anyway..still looks f*cking great!
@ Cube_Girl The reason why at least I hate Crysis 2. Is because it became a linear game. Crysis was an open environment game, granted there were constrictions, but you could roam pretty much everywhere, there was so much space and so many ways to kill people. For Crysis 2, Crytek got greedy and wanted more money. They ported it to consoles, which would not have been able to render the huge open game environments. For those reasons, I am also waiting more for Far Cry then this...
What's with all the hate for Crysis 2? Everyone just jumps on board the hate wagons these days. I'd hate to see when you guys actually run into a game that IS garbage.
Looking forward to spend 60$ dolars on a game with no multiplayer protection at all..oh wait..
