CD Projekt Red's new RPG renamed, will feature sandbox environment.
I love The Witcher and CD Projekt are one of the best developers out there (praise be to them for GOG), but this is a terrible name for a game... calling it after a fiction genre... It's like calling a game 'Western 1877', 'Science Fiction 1997' or 'Romantic Comedy 2007'.
True, but if you look up the history of the previous pen & paper rpg games in the "Cyberpunk" universe, you will see that there are at least two games with similarly very general, very broad, genre defining titles.
One is called "Cyberpunk 2013" and the other is "Cyberpunk 2020."
So, the title "Cyberpunk 2077" isn't too unusual for games in this particular series.
I love CDProjekt, Witcher 2 is one of the best games out there. I just hope that now, with more experience, the team can, in this new game, address some issues that were left wanting in witcher 2, like the rather unresponsive controls and some minor performance optimizations. On a different subject, I've heard McDonnel's voice many times before, but this is the first time I actually see her face. Gotta love her accent.
