2 Like This is one of the most underrated and unfair reviews I have ever seen, I have just come back to check the review after finishing the game, I was postponing playing this game based on the review and I am glad I have changed my mind, another reason why I should not follow reviews. It is as much fun as God of War, and if we start to talk about ripping off other franchises, we are gonna end up at the beginning of time. I thought the level and upgrading up system are more elaborated than GOW's, there are challenging fights and there is always an strategy to overcome the foes, some of the strategies are really smart designed.
2 Like This game is actually superior to God of War in a few ways, the setting, artwork, storyline, and enemy challenge are all far superior and the upgrade system is a lot more interesting.It's much better than a 6.5, far from a total clone, and well worth a 20.But of course GS didn't tell you any of that since they weren't paid off enough.
2 Like I've bought this game maybe 3 years ago and I still play it from time to time, its kinda short but I lots of fun! My advice is not to judge the game from this review alone but to buy the game and see for yourself if your considering to buy it, maybe you hate but probably you love it!
the start of game show some nude scenes and this is placed to atract some pervet players , i think the nude scenes need be more natural
1 Like This game looks descent. I think I might get it. Being a God of War fan. Its clearly heavily influenced by god of war I just wish the Dante's Inferno Fans would see that.
2 Like I'm surprised with this review. I thought every one would agree that Dante's Inferno was a good game. For me it is at least an 8, and surely more memorable than God of War 3. I only agree with the reviewer that the last part of the game was poor.
3 Like omg you couldn't even go one minute without making a ridiculous comparision. Yes God of War takes you into Hell, it is based Greek mythology. Dantes Inferno takes you to Hell, based of a piece of classic literature. Both feature a dood looking to avenge a lady. Correct me if I am wrong, but most every game has a dood rescue a lady, at least action games. And the fact that both games borrow from previously written material means that one rips off the other? Why not just say "games that use previously written material suck and should strive to be more original". God what an awful review.
this game has a lot of flaws for instance the holy-unholy system is broken if you play completely holy or completely unholy the game punishes you in the final boss battle 'cause one stage requires your scythe and other the cross so if you don't upgrade either your scythe or cross the final battle turns annoying.

the only thing about this game is......... hmmmm you only have one weapon. and it can't change to any other form either. that's bull

1 Like This is honestly a pretty good game (especially the price tag on it). He is right about the last 3 circles being awful however. Over all, the game is pretty good. Combat is pretty enjoyable, the scenery of hell is absolutely disturbing, bosses are cool, and there's an interesting story to boot. Come on, it's about a man going through hell (literally) to save his loved one from eternal suffering. That's true love. If you get the chance, try buying this game.

well if u look at the player rating, it's pretty dam hi, thats y i like gamespot, they're hard on the analysis but the player rating is right next to it to determine the fun factor and contradiction, Gamespot hates Postal but i thought it was hilarious and fun.
1 Like so after avoiding this title for so long (thanks to the bad reviews), i've decided i'll get it and try it myself... i'm pretty sure it won't be as bad as i've heard... it won't be as awesome as gow3 but it will be fun...

(Which is a piece of a much larger poem, called the Divine Comedy.) Dante, in this game, has nothing to do with Devil May Cry whatsoever....
And God of War was a Devil May Cry ripoff, so what you got Tom!? Bottom line is: the current "hack and slash" genre is really the modern day platformer. If this game had been made back in the 80s, it would have been akin to something like Castlevania or Mega Man. If you look at it like that, there's NO reason at all to give it a lower score because you think it's a mock-off of another franchise. It's like saying the whole of the platform genre is a Super Mario Bros. rip-off.
1 Like To all that say that this game is indeed a rip off of other hack and slash games.........what did you expect this game to play like, an RPG or a FPS ??? A hack and slash was the most obvious game type they could have chose and while were on the note of who did what first I think people forget that this was a peice of literature and was written well before god of war came along so for the story albeit changed a bit was at least original when compared to GOW.

I don't remember seeing people saying halo was just a rip off of another FPS when it first came out much less saying God of War was a rip off of another hack in slash .
Visceral will always be an imitator, not the initiator.... I don't get why EA is working with them
the graphics are great the sound and music is excellent and all though the gameplay is not as refined as god of war's was it is still good and works well. Above all is the source inspiration of this games creation. Descending the nine circles of hell as dante alighieri imagined is a disturbingly surreal and amazing experience. All though the level of depth in just how far they went with the portrayal of the nine circles is cut short, what they did portray of noteworthiness was incredible and of an original ambiance definitely worth experiencing.
Its pretty simple us PS3 owners can compare it and see the faults and that its not as good. Other system owners see it for the GOOD game that it is, without seeing the whole picture of both. It only get annoying when they cry that it is as good. Outside of that, its not bad at all no.
This is what I call Class A of Trashy Video Reviews, you can't get anymore right on the money when knowing that the reviewer has nothing to pin on this game than having him saying things like "Grotesque Imagery", and "borrowed elements" from GOW which seems to be an enamored fan of. If I used his system of comparative reviwes for example on a game which I think is as crappy, as crappy can get, like Killzone2 that lacks everything except good graphics, I would simply rate Killzone 2 as 5 out of 10 for its graphics, 0 for storyline hell I don't know what that game was all about, a Gameplay that sucks on every level. Yet a right minded person would give it 7.5 or 8 out of ten not 9, and this game, Dante's Inferno, should have been given 7.5 or 8 like Bayonetta, but not 6.5 which is reserved for games that suck on every level.
i play what i want. i dont need a reviewer told me some bullsh!t. for me the game were great. i dont care if the game copies other game as long as i can have fun playing it. lol the reviewer are comparing games too much.
this game was great and i cant wait for the next two to come out even if they are alot like this one only thing i wished was that it was longer
completely underrated... my favorite circle was greed (looked so awesome with all the melted gold).. so I'd say the middle part of the game is better than the 1/3
dantes must be sweating like hell, the first thing he should do when he gets out is BATH if he gets out! yeah does he get out? i didnt play the game coz it's a bad GoW rip off so?
